Maine and Vermont Face Off on AETV Tuesday

BURLINGTON, Vt. -- Two of the top teams in America East face off on America East TV when Maine visits Vermont. The game features two of the top offenses in America East with Vermont averaging a league-best 70-2 points and per game and Maine scoring 69.9 points per game, which ranks second.

The Catamounts and Black Bears will tip off at 7:30 p.m. at Patrick Gym, where UVM has won 17 of its last 18 games. The contest will be televised on Comcast SportsNet for those in New England with Eric Frede (play-by-play) and Frank Sullivan (analyst) on the call. All season long, games will also be available for viewing to ESPN Full Court subscribers, on ESPN3.com (subject to local blackout).

Vermont (12-4, AE 3-1), winners in five of its last six games, outscored UMBC, 56-21, in the second half Saturday en route to a 85-48 win. Sophomore guard Brendan Bald paced the Catamounts with 16 points and six rebounds. Freshman Brian Voelkel contributed eight points, nine rebounds and seven assists. He leads the league in rebounding (10.0 rpg), and ranks second in assists (4.9 apg) and steals (1.8 spg).

Maine (10-7, AE 4-1) moved into first place in America East with a 77-51 win over Binghamton Saturday. The Black Bears, winners of three straight and eight of 10, held the Bearcats to 33 percent shooting. Senior forward Troy Barnies scored 21 points and added nine rebounds. He's averaging 19.2 points and 8.6 rebounds in conference play, which rank third and fourth, respectively. Maine is shooting a league-best 46.2 percent from the field and holding opponents to 40 percent clip.

Tuesday's game is the fourth of 15 America East regular-season contests that will be televised regionally this year. In addition, the semifinals of the America East men's and women's championship and the women's title game will be aired. Check out the full schedule.
