Monday, January 17
at UMBC 71, Boston U. 67 -- Box Score
- UMBC (2-16, 1-4 in America East) erased a nine-point deficit with 4:45 remaining to beat Boston U. (8-11, 3-2 AE) at home. The Retrievers outscored the Terriers, 16-3, over that span to close out the game.
- UMBC shot 48.9 percent from the field, including 10-for-21 from long range, while holding Boston U. to 39.3 percent shooting from the floor.
- UMBC junior guard Chris De La Rosa scored a team-high 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting while also dishing out five assists. Sophomore forward Adrian Satchell scored 11 points, with the last two coming on a pair of free throws with six seconds remaining to seal the victory.
- Boston U. was led by senior forward John Holland with 24 points on 8-of-19 shooting. Junior guard Darryl Partin added 18 points while Matt Griffin scored 15 points off the bench.
- Freshman guard D.J. Irving dished out 10 assists for the Terriers.
Albany 52, at Stony Brook 50 -- Box Score
- Stony Brook junior guard Bryan Dougher missed a three-pointer at the buzzer as Albany (9-12, 2-4 AE) held on for the win.
- Stony Brook (7-10, 2-3 AE) trailed by 11 points with 9:46 remaining before cutting the deficit to one. Albany did not hit a field goal in the last ten minutes of the game. Their only point came on a free throw by John Puk with 17 seconds to play.
- Albany outrebounded Stony Brook, 45-29, grabbing 16 offensive rebounds compared to eight for the Seawolves.
- Senior guard Tim Ambrose led the way for the Great Danes, scoring 14 points and pulling down a game-high 14 rebounds. Sophomore guard Logan Aronhalt added 11 points.
- Dougher reached the 1,000-point milestone as he scored a game-high 20 points on 6-of-17 shooting from the field, including 6-of-13 from behind the arc.
Hartford 72, at Binghamton 61 -- Box Score
- Hartford (6-11, 3-1 AE) shot 47.3 percent from the floor and hit 15 three-pointers while holding Binghamton (6-12, 3-2 AE) to 36.8 percent field-goal shooting.
- The Bearcats outrebounded the Hawks, 40-29, holding a 13-4 edge on the offensive glass. The Bearcats scored 14 second-chance points.
- Senior guard Joe Zeglinski led the Hawks, scoring 26 points while hitting 7-of-11 three-point attempts. Senior guard Milton Burton added 13 points while also grabbing seven rebounds, dishing out five assists and racking up five steals.
- The Bearcats were led by junior center Kyrie Sutton, who scored 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting and grabbed 14 rebounds. Senior forward Moussa Camara added 10 points for Binghamton.
