VESTAL, N.Y. -- The 2010-11 season of America East television continues Monday when Binghamton and Stony Brook square off in men's basketball action in Vestal, N.Y.
The Bearcats and Seawolves will tip off at 7 p.m. at the Events Center and Eric Frede (play-by-play) and Frank Sullivan (analyst) will have the call. The game will be televised on MSG-Plus for those in the tri-state area. All season long, games will also be available for viewing to ESPN Full Court subscribers, on ESPN3.com (subject to local blackout). Due to technical difficulties, tonight's game won't be streamed at AmericaEast.com.
These SUNY rivals are meeting for the 51st time with Binghamton holding slight a 27-23 edge. The Bearcats have won six of the last seven in the series, including eight straight at the Events Center, and dealt the Seawolves one of their three America East losses last season. Binghamton senior Greer Wright poured in a then career-high 27 points and nailed a 15-foot jumper with 1.8 seconds left to lead his team to a 64-62 win over SBU on Jan. 12, 2010. The Seawolves evened the season set with an 81-61 rout of the Bearcats on Feb. 13 at Pritchard Gym behind a career-high 31 points from the reigning America East Player of the Year Muhammad El-Amin.
Binghamton (4-10, 1-0 AE) won its league opener at UNH Saturday. Wright leads the Bearcats again this season, averaging 15.0 points and 6.0 rebounds, good for sixth and 11th in the league, respectively.
Stony Brook (6-8, 1-1 AE) is looking to avoid a three-game losing skid after losses to Vermont Tuesday and at Cornell Saturday. Senior guard Bryan Dougher paces the Seawolves with 13.8 points per game, which ranks 10th among conference leaders.
Monday's game is the second of 15 America East regular-season contests that will be televised regionally this year. In addition, the semifinals of the America East men's and women's championship and the women's title game will be aired. Check out the full schedule.
