Hartford 2, Quinnipiac 0-- Box Score
The Hartford Hawks earned their first win of the season in impressive action, dominating from start-to-finish to pick up the 2-0 victory over Quinnipiac.
Despite being the more aggressive team, the Hawks didn't get on the scoreboard until the 53rd minute, when junior midfielder Andrew Liapis scored his first goal of the season off an assist from junior forward Patrick Boucher. Hartford sealed its first win of the season in the 67th minute, courtesy of a goal from junior midfielder James Stamopoulos. Over the course of the game, the Hawks outshot Quinnipiac 14-7.
Hartford closes out its three-game homestand with a visit from Central Connecticut St. on September 11. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
USF 2, Stony Brook 0 -- Box Score
Stony Brook dropped its third consecutive game, losing 2-0 to USF in Tampa, Fla. The Seawolves are still searching for their first victory since the season-opening win over Hofstra.
Although it was an evenly-contested game, the Seawolves couldn't overcome an early USF goal. The Bulls jumped into the lead in the 2nd minute with a goal from senior midfielder Shawn Chin. The scoreline stayed the same until the 74th minute, when redshirt junior Bernardo Anor made the score 2-0. Junior midfielder Wilber Bonilla was one of three Seawolves to attempt two shots in the loss.
The Seawolves will look to end their losing streak this weekend when they participate in the Dartmouth Classic Tournament in Hanover, N.H.

UMBC at Towson, 4 p.m. -- Live Stats
UMBC begins a stretch of four road games in its next five by facing crosstown-rival Towson in an afternoon contest. The Retrievers, who hold a 12-11-3 advantage in the series, pulled out a 1-0 victory over the Tigers last season. Junior Andrew Bulls scored off a free kick in the 39th minute and sophomore goalkeeper Phil Saunders made five saves in net to record the shutout.
The Retrievers are off to a perfect 2-0-0 start in 2010 after winning the UMBC/Navy Kickoff Classic with wins over VMI and Wofford. UMBC downed the Keydets, 5-3, on Thursday and blanked Wofford, the reigning Southern Conference champions, 2-0 Saturday. Junior Nirav Kadam, a transfer from UNC Greensboro, tallied two goals and two assists and was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week. He and three teammates: Bulls and seniors Levi Houapeu and Chris Williams earned All-Tournament honors. Freshman Pete Caringi III tallied two goals in his debut, the first time a Retriever accomplished that since 2004, to earn America East Rookie of the Week honors.
NJIT at Albany, 4 p.m. -- Live Stats
The Great Danes will look for their third straight win to start 2010 after going winless in 2009. Albany posted a 2-0 shutout win over Fairfield Sept. 1 and upended St. Francis (N.Y.), 2-1, Saturday.
Sophomore goalkeeper Adrian Foncette, who led America East with 6.56 saves per game last season, stopped 15 shots in the two games. He made nine saves against the Stags, including an acrobatic stop in the waning minutes with his team only up by a goal. He followed that performance with six stops against the Terriers to earn his sixth career shutout. Bo Jelovac and Ian Peach tallied the game-winners against Fairfield and St. Francis, respectively.
