soccer update that previews the day's matchups as well as recaps the
previous day's action. The update will also provide links to live
coverage, box scores and highlights of select games. Fans can also

Stony Brook at Albany, 12 p.m. - Live Stats
The Great Danes kick off their league schedule with a visit from the Seawolves. The game has been moved up from 3 p.m. to due impending bad weather.
Albany (5-5-0 overall, 0-0-0 America East) won five games during non-conference season, four of which were shutouts, matching its best start at the Division I level. Sophomore goalkeeper Breanna Maggio ranks second among league leaders in clean sheets with two and already became the Great Danes' all-time record holder in that category earlier this year.
Stony Brook (1-7-2, 0-0-1) is unbeaten in its last two games after struggling during the early part of the season. The Seawolves wrapped up non-conference play with a 4-1 win over Manhattan on Sept. 19 and started their league slate by tying Hartford, 1-1, on Sunday. Sophomore Sa'sha Kershaw scored her team-leading third goal on the season in that game.
The Great Danes won last year's meeting, 2-0, on Long Island. Junior Chrissy Klepper scored one of the goals while classmate Rebecca Lee assisted on both. The loss was only one of two the Seawolves suffered in conference play all season.
Vermont at Maine, 3 p.m. - Live Stats | Live Video
Both teams will be looking for their first league wins when they meet in Orono. The Catamounts and Black Bears played to a scoreless tie last season and have deadlocked in each of their last two meetings.
Vermont (1-9-0, 0-1-0), who fell to UMBC, 2-0, in its conference opener Sunday, hopes to snap a nine-game losing skid. The Cats' posted a 2-1 double-overtime win in their season opener against Rider but have not won since.
Maine (4-4-0, 0-1-0) had its three-game win streak snapped Sunday when it lost its league opener, 1-0, at Binghamton Sunday. Despite the shutout, the Black Bears lead America East averaging 1.75 goals per game. Senior Kelsey Wilson ranks second among league leaders in points (14) and goals (6).
Boston University at UMBC, 4 p.m. - Live Stats
The Retrievers seek their first-ever victory against the Terriers, who have won 23 of their last 24 games against league foes. Both teams won their league openers Sunday.
UMBC (2-7-1, 1-0-0) downed Vermont, 2-0, to earn just its second win in a conference opener since joining America East in 2003. Freshman Nicole Clark and senior Sandra Vacarino scored in victory and freshman Lauren Kadet made eight saves to earn America East Rookie of the Week honors. She leads the league with 6.89 saves per game and ranks third with an .805 save percentage.
Boston U. (6-5-0, 1-0-0), which is ranked fifth in the NSCAA Northeast Region Poll, has won three straight and four of its last five. The powerful tandem of Jessica Luscinski and Lisa Kevorkian each scored to lead the Terriers to a 2-0 victory in its league opener against UNH Sunday. Luscinski and Kevorkian have combined for 12 goals and four assists this season.
Binghamton at Hartford, 7 p.m. - Live Stats | Live Video
The Bearcats and Hawks both look to stay unbeaten in league play when they meet in Hartford. Binghamton downed Maine its opener Sunday, while Hartford tied Stony Brook.
Binghamton (3-7-0, 1-0-0) snapped a four-game losing skid with its 1-0 win over the Black Bears. After 80 scoreless minutes of play, Sarah Furminger found the back of the net with under 10 minutes left to seal the victory. Carrie Martin made five saves to record the shutout.
Hartford (3-6-1, 0-0-2) is riding a three-game unbeaten streak behind the play of junior goalkeeper Lauren Brodeur. Brodeur made seven saves her team's tie Sunday. She leads the league with three shutouts and has allowed just two goals over the last three games.
Sophomore Emily Pape scored to lead the Bearcats to a 1-0 win in last year's meeting.

New Hampshire 2, Brown 2 (2OT) -- Box Score
In the final
game of its non-conference schedule, New Hampshire tied Brown, 2-2.
The Bears were rewarded for their aggressive play in the 10th
minute of action when Mika Siegelman found the back of the net for the only
goal of the first half. New Hampshire
tied the game early in the second half courtesy of a goal from senior
midfielder Carole Leblanc. The game remained tied for only two minutes, as
Eliza Marshall pushed Brown back into the lead in the 55th minute.
It was the Wildcats that scored the final goal of the game, with midfielder
Chelsea Kuss tying the score in the 68th minute. Freshman goalkeeper
Erica Correa continued her excellent play, making six saves to help earn the
tie.
The Wildcats will look to pick up their first victory in
America East play when they travel to UMBC on October 3.
