soccer update that previews the day's matchups as well as recaps the
previous day's action. The update will also provide links to live

Saturday, September 25
New Hampshire 1, Massachusetts 0 (2 OT) -- Box Score
Jon Harris's goal late in the second overtime propelled New Hampshire (4-0-2) past Massachusetts (1-3-3) on the road, 1-0.
Harris, a junior forward, got loose in the 108th minute and tapped in the game winner in sudden victory overtime. The goal, his second of the season, was assisted by senior forward Dylan George. The win is the third-straight for the Wildcats, each coming in overtime. Five of New Hampshire's six matches this season have gone into extra time.
The Wildcats remain unbeaten in 2010 as senior keeper Colin O'Donnell racked up his third shutout of the season.
Hartwick 1, Hartford 0 -- Box Score
For the second straight season, the Hartford Hawks (2-5-0) dropped a 1-0 decision against the Hartwick Hawks (1-6-1).
After playing a scoreless first half, Hartford gave up a goal in the 56th minute to Hartwick senior midfielder Steven Amaya. The goal, assisted by senior back Owen Botting, put Hartwick ahead, 1-0. Hartwick would hang on to that lead for the remainder of the match, winning, 1-0.
Hartford, despite putting five of its seven shots on goal, could not get on the scoreboard. Hartford also took five corner kicks, compared to just one for Hartwick.
No. 22 Brown 3, Vermont 0 -- Box Score
Vermont (4-2-3) fell behind No. 22 Brown (5-0-2) late in the first half and could not come back, losing to the Bears, 3-0.
Brown junior forward T.J. Popolizio scored his second goal of the season in the 40th minute to put the Bears ahead, 1-0, going into the half. His goal was assisted by junior midfielder Taylor Gorman and junior forward Sean Rosa.
In the second half, Brown continued to keep the Catamounts off the board. In the 80th minute, Rosa scored a goal of his own. He then assisted on senior midfielder Jon Okafor's goal in the 86th minute, putting Brown ahead, 3-0.
Vermont was outshot, 14-9, in the match. The Catamounts put of those 14 shots on goal, all in the second half.
Senior keeper Xan Rousselle made seven saves in the loss.

Sunday, September 26
Albany at San Diego State, 3 p.m. -- Live Stats
Albany (4-3-0) looks to finish off its trip to the west coast with a win as it matches up against San Diego State (5-1-1) in the 2010 Nike Soccer Classic, hosted by San Diego.
The Great Danes lost their opening match of the weekend tournament to the host San Diego Toreros, 2-0. San Diego scored two first-half goals and completely shut down the Albany offense for the entire match. The Great Danes did not take a shot in the match, getting outshot, 13-0. Albany also surrendered six corner kicks while taking just two of their own.
After facing San Diego State, Albany heads home to host Holy Cross on September 29.
Binghamton vs. Cornell, 4 p.m. -- Live Stats | Live Video
Binghamton (1-4-1) looks to extend its unbeaten string to three games as it welcomes Cornell (3-2-2) to Vestal, N.Y.
After starting the season 0-4, all of which were against nationally ranked opponents, the Bearcats have gotten themselves back on track, winning the Colgate Raider Classic last weekend with a 1-0 win over Lafayette and a 1-1 draw against Colgate. Senior back Kyle Manscuk scored both Bearcat goals in the tournament.
After Cornell, Binghamton will have one more non-conference match on the road at Niagara on September 29.
Stony Brook vs. Quinnipiac, 5 p.m. -- Live Stats | Live Video
Stony Brook (4-4-1) hosts a Quinnipiac (0-4-1) team in search of its first victory in a Sunday afternoon match at LaValle Stadium.
The Seawolves are unbeaten in their last four matches. This comes after the Seawolves lost four straight. Most recently, Stony Brook dueled to a draw at home Friday night against No. 21 Harvard. The Seawolves took the lead early in the second half when sophomore forward Berian Gobeil connected on a penalty kick. Stony Brook would have won the match if it were not for a Harvard goal in the 90th minute.
After the Quinnipiac match, Stony Brook will next take the field on the road at Iona.
Boston U. vs. No. 21 Harvard, 7 p.m. -- Live Stats | Live Video | Live Audio
Boston University (4-3-1) looks to stay in the win column as it plays host to No. 21 Harvard (2-1-3).
The Terriers snapped a three-game losing streak Friday night when they shutout Rhode Island, 3-0. Junior midfielder Ben Berube scored two goals, including what proved to be the game winner in the 24th minute. Sophomore forward Ade Akinsanya also scored a goal in the match, his first of the season. His goal was assisted by his brother, senior forward Temi Akinsanya.
In last year's meeting between these two teams, Harvard won, 1-0, at home.
Boston U. will next play at Stony Brook in its conference opener on October 2.
UMBC at Fairleigh Dickinson, 7 p.m.
UMBC (4-2-0) travels up to New Jersey to take on Fairleigh Dickinson (3-3-0) on Sunday night.
UMBC's last match on the road at Loyola (Md.) was cancelled due to inclement weather. In the match prior to that, the Retrievers came back from a 2-0 hole to defeat Mount St. Mary's, 3-2. Their opponent in this match, Fairleigh Dickinson, is not a stranger to dramatic victories either. The Knights have won their last two matches in overtime against Temple and Yale.
After this match, the Retrievers will open America East play at home against Binghamton.
