- In 2009-10, America East sent three teams to the postseason for just the second time in league history.
- Stony Brook hosted Illinois in the first round of the NIT. The Seawolves became just the second America East squad to play a postseason game on its home court and first since Niagara hosted an NIT contest in 1987. SBU was edged by the Illini, 76-66, in front of a sellout crowd of 4,423 fans at Stony Brook Arena.
- Boston University advanced to the semifinals of the College Basketball Invitational by blowing out Oregon State, 96-78, in the first round and downing Morehead State,91-89, in overtime of the quarterfinals at Case Gym.
- Vermont defeated Boston University, 83-70, in the 2010 America East Men’s Championship Game in front of a sellout crowd and a nationally television audience on ESPN2. The title was Vermont‘s fourth since 2003.
- UVM faced Syracuse in the first round of the NCAA Championship in Buffalo and ranked sixth out of 65 NCAA teams with a 92 percent graduation rate.
- America East posted four wins against BCS-conference schools in 2009-10 and has seven victories against Big Six schools since 2008.
- Newman’s Own Foundation contributed more than $100,000 to charities in America East communities during the championship.
- Ten of 15 All-America East selections return this season, including a trio of first-team selections in Binghamton’s Greer Wright, Boston University’s John Holland and Maine’s Gerald McLemore.
