Women's Soccer: UNH, Hartford Earn Shutouts Thursday

at New Hampshire 1, Dartmouth 0 - Box Score

Junior Brooke Duchaney tallied her second game-winning goal in as many games to lift UNH to a 1-0 victory over Dartmouth Thursday. The win was the Wildcats' first over their in-state rivals in 19 years.

Duchaney, a junior transfer from Bryant, received a long serve from Stephanie Gilkenson in the 33rd minute and found the back of the net. She provided the winner against her former team in UNH's 2-1 win over Bryant Sunday. Freshman Erica Correa made five saves to record her second straight shutout.

UNH opens conference play Sunday against defending regular-season champion Boston University at 1 p.m.


Hartford 0, at Fairfield 0

The Hawks and Stags combined for 29 shots but neither team could solve their opponent's goalkeeper as the game ended in a scoreless tie after 110 minutes.

Hartford goalkeeper Lauren Brodeur made six saves to record her league-leading third shutout. Caroline Dixon recorded six of Hartford's 11 shots, including three on net.

The Hawks open their league season Sunday at Stony Brook at 2 p.m.
