New Hampshire 2, Bryant 1 (OT) -- Box Score
New Hampshire (3-0-2) scored a goal early in the first overtime to top Bryant, 2-1, at home in Durham, N.H.
In the 92nd minute, junior midfielder Brad Hilton put a ball past Bulldog goalkeeper Victor Tutino to grab a sudden victory for the Wildcats. Hilton was set up for his game-winning goal by freshman midfielder Steven Palumbo. The goal was Hilton's second of the season.
Much of the game proved to be a defensive battle. The match was scoreless until New Hampshire junior forward Jon Harris took a pass from Hilton and put it into the back of the net, giving the Wildcats a lead, 1-0, going into the half.
However, Bryant's Erik Lekstrom scored in the 54th minute, knotting the score, 1-1, and eventually forcing the sudden-victory overtime.
Both keepers played well. Tutino made 11 saves in the match for Bryant. New Hampshire senior keeper Colin O'Donnell made five saves on the night, helping to keep the Wildcats unbeaten for the season.
Vermont 2, Massachusetts 2 (2 OT) -- Box Score
Scoring one goal and assisting on another, senior midfielder Patrick Alonis helped lead Vermont (4-1-3) to a 2-2 draw on the road at Massachusetts.
The Catamounts struck first when Alonis scored in the ninth minute to put Vermont ahead, 1-0. Alonis was set up for the score by sophomore forward D.J. Elder.
Vermont did not hold onto the lead for long, surrenduring a goal to Minuteman junior forward Bryant Craft in the 23rd minute. Crafts goal tied the game, 1-1. Massachusetts took the lead 2:07 later on a goal by junior defender Andrew Henshaw. The goal, which gave Massachusetts a 2-1 lead, was Henshaw's first of the season.
Vermont trailed into the second half, by tied the match, 2-2, in the 54th minute on Juan Peralta's second goal of the season. Alonis and freshman midfielder Malick Camara assisted on the equalizer. Neither team scored the rest of the way, including the two extra periods.
With the draw, their third straight even result, the Catamounts improved their unbeaten streak to six matches.
UMBC at Loyola (Md.) -- Cancelled
UMBC (4-2-0) travelled to cross-town rival Loyola (Md.) only to have the game cancelled due to inclement weather.
The game was stopped in the 28th minute on account of lightning. When the weather did not let up after a lengthy delay, the game was called. The match was scoreless at the time of the delay. The match will not be rescheduled.
