Albany 2, Bryant 0 -- Box Score
Albany (5-5-0) used a combination of strong offense and suffocating defense to complete its non-conference schedule with a win, beating Bryant on the road, 2-0.
The Great Danes got on the board early, putting the Bulldogs in a hole, 1-0, in the fourth minute. Sophomore forward Chelsea DeVerna scored from 10 feet out on a pass from junior back Kendra Harrell-Vigil.
The score stayed 1-0 into the second half, until Albany added another goal, this one from Aubrey VanGorder, in the 67th minute, to go up, 2-0.
Defensively, the Great Danes were led by sophomore keeper Breanna Maggio, who made five saves on the afternoon. The effort was strong enough to earn Maggio her second shutout of the season and fifth of her career, eclipsing the record for career shutouts by a Great Dane at the Division I level.
Loyola (Md.) 2, UMBC 1 (OT) -- Box Score
UMBC (1-7-1) took cross-town rival Loyola into overtime, but dropped its last non-conference match of the season, 2-1, just one minute into the extra period.
In the 91st minute, Loyola sophomore forward Nichole Schiro scored her second goal of the game to grab the overtime win for the Greyhounds, 2-1. Schiro's goal, her seventh of the season, was set up by senior midfielder Kelly Farrell.
Schiro and Farrell connected earlier in the game when Shiro scored her first goal, putting Loyola ahead, 1-0, in the 44th minute.
UMBC did tie the score in the 63rd minute, when senior back Christine Sadowski controlled a deflected corner kick and putting it into the back of the net.
Cornell 3, Binghamton 1 -- Box Score
Binghamton (2-7-0) could not muster enough offense to overcome a 3-0 deficit at home against Cornell, as the Bearcats fell to the Big Red, 3-1.
Binghamton fell behind Cornell early in the match, giving up a goal to freshman forward Caedran Harvey in the 18th minute. Cornell held that 1-0 lead into the second half.
In the second half, the Big Red pushed its lead to 3-0, scoring one goal in the 51st minute and another in the 58th. Sophomore forward Maneesha Chitanvis, who assisted on Harvey's goal in the first half, scored an unassisted goal to put Cornell ahead, 2-0. The score stretched to 3-0 on freshman midfielderRachel Nichols' goal in the 58th minute.
Binghamton did put a goal up on the board. Junior midfielder Mary DeWitte scored on a pass from sophomore forward Candice Rowland in the 88th minute. The goal, which broke a stretch of more than seven halves without a goal, was too little, too late for the Bearcats.

Thursday, September 23
Dartmouth at New Hampshire, 4 p.m. -- Live Stats
The Wildcats hope to close out their two-game homestand with a victory when they face Dartmouth.
New Hampshire is coming off a key 1-0 victory over Bryant. The win ended a four-game losing streak for the Wildcats, who had not won since September 3. New Hampshire junior forward Brooke Duchaney scored the lone goal of the game in the 38th minute. The goal by Duchaney, which was her first of the season, came off a beautiful pass from sophomore forward Chelsea Kuss. The Wildcats used an excellent performance from freshman goalkeeper Erica Correa, who recorded her first career shutout, to ensure the win.
New Hampshire opens the conference portion of its schedule with a visit to Boston University on September 26.
Hartford at Fairfield, 7 p.m. -- Live Stats
In the final game of their non-conference schedule, the Hawks travel to Fairfield, Conn., for a match up with Fairfield.
In its 3-1 victory over St. Joseph’s, Hartford picked up its first home win of the season. Senior midfielder Michelle Babin opened the scoring in the 25th minute, netting the first goal of her career. The Hawks extended their lead early in the second half, as senior defender Nicole Weil scored her second goal of the season. Sophomore midfielder Amelia Pereira secured the victory for the Hawks in the 75th minute, scoring off a tremendous pass from junior forward Breeanna Robinson.
Hartford finishes its quick two-game road trip with a visit to Stony Brook on September 26.
