CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- University of Maine's Kelsey Wilson (Gorham, Maine/Gorham) and Boston University's Kelly King (Solon, Ohio/Laurel) each led their respective teams to key wins last week and have been rewarded with America East's weekly women's soccer awards. Wilson took home Player of the Week recognition, while King was tabbed Rookie of the Week. The awards for the week ending Sept. 19 were announced Monday afternoon.

Wilson kept her torrid scoring streak going by scoring both goals in Maine’s lone game last week, a 2-1 win over Temple on Sunday, which extended its win streak to three games. The senior captain got her team on the board by finishing a cross from Maggie Malone in the 41st minute and tallied the eventual game winner in the 67th minute off a feed from Josee Descoeurs. Wilson, who has 14 points on six goals and a pair of assists on the season, has tallied all six scores in her last four games and leads America East in goals per game (0.86 gpg) and points per contest (2.0 ppg).

King continued her solid play in net to lead the Terriers to back-to-back 3-0 wins over Harvard and UConn, respectively. A freshman goalkeeper, King made 11 saves in just 90 minutes of action and picked up the win over Harvard. She made five first-half stops against the Crimson before giving way to junior Alice Binns, who played the second half. King also played the first half against the Huskies and made six stops to preserve a 0-0 tie before the offense struck three times in the second half. King, who has played in all 10 games for Boston U., ranks second among league leaders with a 1.29 goals-against average.

League play gets underway on Saturday with four contests. Binghamton hosts Maine in a rematch of last season's America East semifinal matchup, which the Black Bears won in penalty kicks. Elsewhere UMBC travels to Vermont, Boston University entertains New Hampshire and Hartford visits Stony Brook.
