gameday throughout the 2010 season, America East will provide a women's
soccer update that previews the day's matchups as well as recaps the
previous day's action. The update will also provide links to live
coverage, box scores and highlights of select games. Fans can also

Sunday, September 19
Vermont vs. Colgate, 1 p.m.- Live Video
In their final home game before the start of the conference schedule, the Catamounts will look to put an end to their six-game losing streak when they face Colgate.
In its last game, Vermont fell 2-1 to Temple. Despite both teams having chances to score in the first half, the opening goal didn’t come until the 55th minute. Niki Conn gave the visiting Owls the lead with her fourth goal of the season. The Owls extended their lead in the 72nd minute courtesy of a goal from Kate Yurkovic. Vermont freshman forward Haley Marks prevented the shutout with her second goal of the season in the 82nd minute.
The Catamounts close out their non-conference schedule with a trip to Washington, D.C., to face American University on September 24.
Albany vs. Central Connecticut St., 1 p.m. - Live Stats
Albany will look to continue its impressive start to the 2010 season when it hosts Central Connecticut St. at Varsity Field.
With their 1-0 win over Manhattan, the Great Danes improved to 4-1-0 at Varsity Field this season. Albany came out the more aggressive team in the opening 45 minutes, and it was rewarded with a goal from junior midfielder Chrissy Klepper in the 27th minute. An excellent performance from freshman goalkeeper Dani Britt helped preserve the shutout win, as Britt made four saves in the win.
The Great Danes close out their non-conference schedule against Bryant on September 22.
Bryant at New Hampshire, 1 p.m.- Live Stats
In the opening game of its two-game homestand, the Wildcats will look to put an end to their four-game losing streak when they host Bryant.
UNH was unable to rebound from an early deficit in its 3-1 loss to Northeastern. The Huskies grabbed the lead in the 13th minute, with Georgina Kerr opening the scoring. UNH junior midfielder Jordyn Krall tied the game in the 50th minute, scoring her second goal of the season off an excellent pass from sophomore forward Chelsea Kuss. However, Northeastern responded with two goals in a three-minute period to secure the win.
On September 23, the Wildcats will host Dartmouth at Lewis Fields in their final game before the start of conference play.
Maine vs. Temple, 1 p.m.- Live Stats; Live Video
The Black Bears return to action following a week off when they host the Temple Owls. Maine will be looking to extend its winning streak to three games.
Maine is coming off an impressive 3-2 road victory over Rhode Island. The Black Bears overcame a 2-1 halftime deficit to pull out the win. Junior forward Carolyne Nellis netted her second goal of the season in the 55th minute, which made the score 2-2. The Black Bears grabbed the game-winning goal in the 69th minute, when senior midfielder Kelsey Wilson scored her second goal of the game. Maine redshirt freshman goalkeeper Iris Gunnarsdottir made four saves to help earn the win.
Following the visit from Temple, Maine will kick off its America East schedule with a trip to Binghamton on September 26.
Boston University vs. Connecticut, 1 p.m.- Live Stats ; Live Video ; Live Listen
Boston University wraps up its grueling non-conference schedule with a match up against Connecticut at Nickerson Field.
In their 3-0 win over Harvard, the Terriers put together a dominant offensive performance. Junior midfielder Jessica Luscinski opened the scoring in the 20th minute, scoring her third goal of the season. Boston University added to its lead early in the second half, with forward Lisa Kevorkian extending the lead in the 50th minute. Junior midfielder Brittany Heist secured victory in the 81st minute, netting her first goal of the season.
The Terriers begin their conference schedule on September 26 with a visit from New Hampshire.
UMBC at American, 1 p.m.- Live Video
The Retrievers will look to put an end to their six-game winless streak when they travel to Washington, D.C., to face American.
In the final game of its two-game homestand, UMBC gave up an early lead and fell 4-3 to George Mason. The Retrievers held a 2-0 lead at the half, as freshman forward Amy Savage and freshman midfielder Stephanie Smith both scored in the opening 45 minutes. After George Mason opened the second half with three goals in the first 15 minutes, UMBC tied the game on sophomore forward Rachel Mckee’s first goal of the season. The Colonials scored the game-winning goal in the 67th minute, when Zoe Doherty scored her second goal of the game.
UMBC continues its three-game road trip with a visit to Baltimore, Md. for a match up with Loyola (Md).
St. Joseph’s at Hartford, 2 p.m.- Live Stats ; Live Video
The Hawks will hope to bounce back from a tough 3-1 loss to Central Connecticut St. when they host St. Joseph’s.
In the loss to their intrastate rivals, the Hawks were unable to build on an early lead. Junior forward Breeanna Robinson put Hartford in the lead with her fourth goal of the season in the 40th minute. However, the Hawks could find no answer for Beth Lloyd in the second half, as she scored three goals to push the Blue Devils to the victory. Hartford junior goalkeeper Lauren Brodeur did an excellent job keeping the Hawks in the game, as she made a season-high eight saves in the loss.
Hartford closes out the non-conference portion of its schedule on September 23 against Fairfield.
Stony Brook vs. Manhattan, 4 p.m.- Live Stats ; Live Video
In its final non-conference game, Stony Brook will look to pick up its first victory of the season when it hosts Manhattan.
Despite outshooting Fairfield 15-10, the Seawolves fell 3-0. Stony Brook dominated offensively in the first-half, outshooting the Stags, 9-1. However, their inability to find the back of the net caught up with the Seawolves, as Fairfield grabbed the lead in the 67th minute. Spenser Allaway converted a great pass from Shannon Fray to open the scoring. Jac Ley added two goals for the Stags to secure the 3-0 win. Stony Brook freshman goalkeeper Chelsea Morales made five saves in the loss.
The Seawolves close out their three-game homestand when they face Hartford on September 26 in the opening conference game for both teams.
