Upcoming Action
Friday, September 19
Albany vs. Manhattan, 4 p.m.
After losing its last two matches, Albany (3-4-0) heads back into action this afternoon, hosting the Manhattan Jaspers (1-3-1).
The Great Danes have lost their last two games after going on a three-game win streak, the longest win streak in the program's history in Division I. In their last match, they dropped a 2-0 decision to Colgate, despite outshooting their opponents, 19-7.
Albany has not played Manhattan since 2007, when the two teams played to a 1-1 tie in Riverdale, N.Y. That tie sparked a five-game unbeaten streak for the Great Danes.
After Manhattan, Albany will next play at home against Central Connecticut St.
Vermont vs. Temple, 4 p.m. -- Live Video
The Vermont Catamounts (1-5-0) welcome the Temple Owls (3-4-0)to Burlington this afternoon, looking for their first win since opening day.
Vermont has had a difficult run through its non-conference schedule, dropping five-straight since defeating Rider to open the season. However, the Catamounts look to get back on track in the second game of a three-game homestand.
These two teams have met twice before, with Temple winning both matches. Their most recent meeting was in 2008. Temple has already played two America East teams this season, defeating Hartford, 4-3, and losing to Albany, 3-2.
Vermont will take on Colgate at home Sunday afternoon.
Hartford at Central Connecticut State, 5 p.m. -- Live Stats
The Hartford Hawks (2-5-0) will travel to New Britain, Conn., to face in-state rival Central Connecticut St. tonight.
The Hawks won their last match, a 1-0 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson, to get back on track after losing four matches in a row. The win over Fairleigh Dickinson was based primarily on a strong defense, which allowed just one shot on goal, which was saved by junior goalkeeper Lauren Brodeur. Hartford will look for a similar outcome tonight against the Blue Devils. In the last meeting between these two teams, the Hawks won at home, 5-2.
After tonight, the Hawks will next play St. Joseph's at home.
New Hampshire at Northeastern, 6 p.m. -- Live Stats | Live Video | Live Audio
New Hampshire (2-3-2) heads to Boston tonight to face a former America East opponent, the Northeastern Huskies (4-2-0).
New Hampshire is searching for its first win in two weeks. The Wildcats have dropped their last three matches after going unbeaten in their first four games to start the season. They will try to recover from a 3-0 loss at home to Siena last Sunday. To do that, they will have to go through a Huskies team that has won four of its last five matches.
The next match for the Wildcats will be at home Sunday against Bryant.
