Cambridge, Mass.—For the third straight year, the Stony Brook University women’s cross country team has been chosen as the preseason favorite to win the conference and defend its America East championship. The Seawolves received all eight possible first place votes, pacing the field with 64 points overall.
University of New Hampshire racked up 48 points to grab the second spot in the poll, followed closely by University of Maine in third with 47 points. Boston University took the remaining first-place vote, ranking fourth overall in the poll with 44 points. University of Vermont grabbed fifth place with 35 points, just a few points ahead of University at Albany and Binghamton University, which tied for sixth place with 31 points each. UMBC and University of Hartford round out the field with 16 and eight points, respectively.

As for the men, defending cross country champion Binghamton University has been selected by America East coaches as the preseason favorite in the conference. With 57 points, including six first-place votes, the Bearcats look to repeat as conference champions.
Binghamton is followed closely by a pack of challengers. Stony Brook University falls in second place with 49 points and two first-place votes, just ahead of University of New Hampshire’s 48 points in third place and Boston University, which grabbed fourth with 47 points and the remaining first-place vote. University at Albany comes in at fifth with 37 points and University of Maine is sixth with 34 points. University of Vermont checks in at the seventh spot with 27 points, ahead of eighth-place UMBC, with 17 points, and ninth-place University of Hartford, taking eight points.
