Iona at Albany, 3 p.m. -- Live Stats

The Great Danes look for their first win of the young season when they face the Gaels in their home opener Wednesday. Albany has won back-to-back openers at Varsity Field, including a 2-0 win over Iona last year.

Albany, which reached the America East Championship for the first time in 2009, dropped its first two games of 2010 at the Las Vegas Invitational over the weekend. Sophomore forward Shayla Bergeron and junior midfielder Chrissy Klepper tallied goals in a 5-2 loss to host UNLV Friday. The Great Danes then suffered a 3-0 loss to last year's Big Sky regular-season champion Portland State, 3-0, on Sunday.

Iona has faced a pair of America East squads already this season. The Gaels fell to Maine, 4-0, on Aug. 22 and beat Stony Brook, 1-0, on Sunday.

UMBC 1, at Campbell 1 (2 OT) -- Box Score

After not having played each other in nearly 17 years, 90 minutes was not enough time on the pitch for UMBC (1-2-1) and Campbell (2-2-1). The two former Big South rivals dueled to a 1-1 tie in Buis Creek, N.C.

Neither team was able to break through offensively until the 87th minute. That is when UMBC sophomore forward Sarah Kopytko opened up the scoring with her first career goal. Kopytko, who was assisted by Amy Savage on the goal, put the Retrievers up, 1-0, with just 3:19 left in regulation.

However, the one goal was not enough to seal a victory. In the 89th minute, Campbell junior forward Olga Ekblom put a ball past freshman keeper Lauren Kadet. The goal knotted the match, 1-1, and sent it into overtime.
