UMBC's Bulls Tabbed Preseason All-American, Named To Hermann Trophy Watch List

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- UMBC's men's soccer standout Andrew Bulls, the reigning America East Striker of the Year, was named a preseason second-team All-American by College Soccer News on Aug. 7. Bulls was also one of 39 Division I standouts named to the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy Watch List, the organization announced Aug. 12. The Hermann Trophy is awarded to the top male and female in Division I college soccer.

Bulls, a junior forward, is coming off a sensational sophomore season in which he tied for the league lead with 15 goals and added 11 assists. His 2.05 points per game ranked second best nationally only to teammate Levi Houapeu, while his 0.75 goals per contest were fourth best in the country. He received honorable mention All-America honors from College Soccer News following the season.

Bulls' UMBC squad, which won 14 games and reached the finals of the America East Championship for the first time last year, kicks off its season Sept. 2 against Virginia Military Institute. Five teams, including defending champion Stony Brook, begin their seasons Sept. 1.
