Every
gameday throughout the 2010 season, America East will provide a men's
soccer update that previews the day's matchups as well as recaps the
previous day's action. The update will also provide links to live
coverage, box scores and highlights of select games. Fans can also

Upcoming Action
Wednesday, September 1
Hartford at No. 12 Boston College, 4 p.m.
The Hawks will begin the 2010 season with a highly-anticipated visit to Chestnut Hill, Mass. for a matchup with the No. 12 ranked Boston College Eagles. This will be the 15th meeting between the two teams, with Boston College holding a 7-5-2 edge in the series.
Hartford is coming off a season in which it finished third in the America East and advanced to the America East ConferenceTournament. When these teams met last season, the Hawks were unable to overcome an early deficit, and fell 2-1 at Al-Marzook Field. Sophomore midfielder James Stamopoulos, who was selected to the America East All-Rookie team, and junior forward Patrick Boucher highlight the returning starters for the Hawks.
After opening the season with the visit to Boston College, the Hawks will have a three-game homestand, which will include visits from Boston University, Quinnipiac and Central Connecticut St.
No. 13 Stanford at Vermont, 4p.m.-- Live Video
Vermont kicks off its season with a visit from the No.13 ranked Stanford Cardinal. This game will be a homecoming for Stanford assistant Coach Gregg Olson. Olson, a four-year starter with the Catamounts, also served as an assistant coach at Vermont for five seasons.
The Catamounts return five starters from the team that finished seventh in the conference last season. Along with returning the five returning starters, the team will also rely on 15 newcomers to improve on last season. Senior midfielder Kyle Luetkehans will serve as a captain for the Catamounts this season, and his leadership will be essential in helping this young team come together.
Following the visit from Stanford, Vermont will travel to Durham, N.H. to take part in the UNH Nike Fall Classic.
Albany at Fairfield, 7 p.m.
Albany will look to rebound from a difficult 2009 season when they pay a visit to Fairfield in the season-opener for both teams. The Great Danes were selected to finish eighth in the 2010 Preseason Poll, while the Stags were recently picked to finish second in the MAAC.
The Great Danes return senior forward Bo Jelovac, who led the team in scoring with five points last season. Senior midfielder’s Ian Peach and Milos Jankovic have both started since they were freshman and will look to provide offensive help for Jelovac in front of the goal.
After the visit to Fairfield, Albany will begin a four-game homestand with a matchup against St. Francis, N.Y.
Massachusetts at Boston University, 7 p.m.-- Live Stats ; Live Video
Boston University begins its 2010 campaign with a visit from the University of Massachusetts. This will be the 42nd meeting between the teams, with UMass leading the series 21-13-6. The game last season ended in a 1-1 draw.
The Terriers were selected to win the league in the 2010 Preseason Poll. Boston University returns America East All-Conference first team honorees junior midfielder Michael Bustamante and senior forward/midfielder Aaron O’Neal. The Terriers return eight starters from the team that finished sixth in the conference last season.
Following the visit from UMass, Boston University will travel to West Hartford, Conn. for a game with the Hartford Hawks.
Stony Brook at Hofstra, 7 p.m.—Live Stats
The Seawolves will kick off their quest to return to the NCAA Tournament when they travel to Hempstead, N.Y. to face the Hofstra Pride. Hofstra leads the all-time with a 14-8-5 record.
Stony Brook returns eight starters from the team that won the America East Conference Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The midfield duo of sophomore Leonardo Fernandez and junior Wilber Bonilla will anchor the attack for the Seawolves. Sophomore forward Berian Gobeil will provide another attacking option, having been named to the America East All-Conference second team as a freshman.
After the visit to Hofstra, the Seawolves will travel to Easton, Pa. to take part in the Lafayette Soccer Classic.
