Boston University 3, Washington 0 -- Box Score


The Boston University Terriers used a potent offensive attack and strong goalkeeping to blank the visiting Huskies.

Junior forward Jessica Luscinski put the Terriers (2-2-0) on top, 1-0, in the 40th minute with an unassisted goal. The goal was her first of the season.

Boston continued its scoring onslaught in the second half with a goal in the 53rd minute by freshman midfielder Emma Clark on a pass from senior midfielder Shauna Kelleher.

Sophomore midfielder Jessica Morrow added to the Terrier lead with her header on a pass from freshman midfielder Kylie Strom.

In net, the Terriers once again split time between starter, freshman Kelly King, and finisher, junior Alice Binns. King had two saves and Binns stopped five as the pair combined for the shutout.
 

New Hampshire 1, Rider 1 (2 OT) -- Box Score

The New Hampshire Wildcats played Rider to a 1-1 tie, earning them the top spot in the TD Bank Classic, hosted by the University of Vermont.

The Wildcats (1-0-2) found themselves trailing, 1-0, at the half after freshman forward Jody Sokol put a deflected ball past freshman goalkeeper Erica Correa in the 31st minute.

New Hampshire tied the game in the 65th minute when senior midfielder Ashley Avitabile scored the first goal of her Wildcat career.

The tie propelled New Hampshire to win the TD Bank Classic for the first time since 2001. Correa, who led the tournament with 13 saves, eight of which came against Rider, was named the tournament's defensive Most Valuable Player. She was also selected to the All-tournament team along with Ashley Avitabile and junior midfielder Amy Avitabile, who scored in the Wildcats' win over La Salle Friday.


La Salle 3, Vermont 2 -- Box Score


The University of Vermont Catamounts were unable to hold a one-goal halftime lead, falling to La Salle in the TD Bank Classic.

La Salle got on the board first with a strike by sophomore defender Diana Allen in the third minute.

Vermont (1-1-0) quickly returned with a goal of its own in the fifth minute. That is when senior midfielder Alison Hemphill put a ball off the post and into the net for her first goal of the season. The tally knotted the score, 1-1.

The Catamounts took a 2-1 lead into the half thanks to a goal from sophomore midfielder Midori Eckenstein in the 43rd minute. The goal was assisted by freshman forward Haley Marks.

Unfortunately for the tournament hosts, they could not hold the lead in the second half. La Salle's freshman forward Renee Washington, who was named the tournament's offensive Most Valuable Player, scored in the 59th minute to tie the game. Junior midfielder Erin Brennan scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 74th minute.


Sacred Heart 3, Binghamton 2 -- Box Score


The Binghamton University Bearcats were unable to secure their first win of the season, coming up short on the road against Sacred Heart.

Binghamton (0-2-0) fell behind early, surrenduring a goal to junior forward Samantha Kee, her first of two goals on the day, in just the third minute.

The Bearcats tied the game at one apiece in the 21st minute when sophomore forward Kerry Sullivan headed in a cross from sophomore forward Sarah Furminger.

Just two minutes later, Kee scored again on a header of her own. Junior midfielder Heather Quevillion added a goal in the second half, giving Sacred Heart a 3-1 lead.

Binghamton freshman midfielder Kaitlyn Cook scored in the 71st minute to close the gap to 3-2.


Iona 1, Stony Brook 0 -- Box Score

A single first half goal was enough for Iona to stave off a short-handed Stony Brook (0-3-0) attack.

Iona senior midfielder Abby Dixon scored the match's lone goal in the 34th minute to give the Gaels a lead they would hold for the duration of the match.

Dixon's goal came just over 11 minutes after Stony Brook junior midfielder Holly Razzaghi left the game after being given a red card. The ejection forced the Seawolves to play with just ten women on the pitch.

Stony Brook outshot Iona, 14-11, in the game, including four shots on goal. The Seawolves took three of their four shots on goal in the second half.

Stony Brook freshman goalkeeper Chelsea Morales finished the match with six saves. 


Temple 4, Hartford 3 -- Box Score

Despite a furious comeback in which the Hawks scored three goals, the University of Hartford was unable to come out victorious at the Temple Owls Tournament.
 
The Hawks (1-2-0) found themselves in a two-goal deficit in just the 17th minute. Hartford fought back, with junior forward Breeanna Robinson scoring the first of her two goals in the match in the 32nd minute. The goal, assisted by junior forward Alex Uscilla, made the score 2-1 at the half.

The Owls scored early in the second half as well, this time off a penalty kick by junior forward Niki Conn, her second goal of the game, in the 52nd minute.

Hartford's freshman forward Arielle Aikens closed the gap to 3-2 with a goal in the 78th minute, but was quickly answered when Temple's redshirt freshman midfielder Kristen Worth scored just four minutes later.

Robinson closed out the scoring with a goal in the 86th minute, again assisted by Uscilla. The Hawks were unable to even the score.

Robinson, Uscilla and Aiken were selected to the All-Tournament team.


The Citadel 3, Maine 1 -- Box Score

The Maine Black Bears fell victim to an efficient attack by The Citadel on the road in South Carolina.

Maine (1-3-0) was able to muster just one goal in the match, despite taking 16 shots. Nine of those shots were on goal.

The Citadel's junior goalkeeper Laura Serafino was up to the task of protecting the net, racking up eight saves in the contest.

The Citadel, on the other hand, took advantage of the few shots they took. Of its eight shots, five were on goal and three reached the back of the net.

The Citadel's freshman midfielder Ruth Leiva scored in the third minute and again in the 23rd minute to put the Bulldogs up, 2-0.

Maine cut the defecit in half late when senior midfielder Kelsey Wilson scored. Wilson had five shots on goal in the match.

However, in the 87th minute, Leiva completed her hat trick, making the score 3-1.


Portland State 3, Albany 0 -- Box Score

The University at Albany finished up play at the Las Vegas Invitational with a loss to Portland State.

Albany (0-2-0) fell behind early as Portland State's Hannah Kimsey scored in the seventh minute.

The Great Danes fought back, taking ten shots in the match with six shots on goal. However, Portland State goalkeeper Rachel Jarvis came up with six saves.

Albany held Portland State without a goal for nearly 78 minutes. However, Portland State scored two goals in the last 5:01 to push the score to 3-0.

Albany sophomore goalkeeper Breanna Maggio finished with five saves. Sophomore forward Chelsea DeVerna led Albany with two shots on goal.

UMBC at Campbell, 6 p.m. -- Live Stats | Live Video


The UMBC Retrievers (1-2-0) travel to Buies Creek, N.C. to take on the Campbell Camels Monday evening.

UMBC is coming off a loss at Longwood Friday night. However, reigning America East Player of the Week Sandra Vacarino, who leads the Retrievers with three points (one goal, one assist), looks to get the Retrievers back on track against Campbell.

UMBC leads the all-time series against the Camels, 2-1. However, the teams have not met since facing off in the 1993 Big South championship game. The Camels took that match, 2-1. 17 years later, the two teams collide once again.

Monday's match is the third of a four-game road trip for UMBC.
