Greensboro, N.C.-- Five America East track & field standouts who competed at last weekend's NCAA East Regional Meet hosted by North Carolina A&T advanced through their heats to qualify for the NCAA National Meet June 9-12 at University of Oregon in Eugene.

University of Maine sophomore Riley Masters, who finished the indoor season as an All-American in the mile run, finished third in the 1,500m with a time of 3:43.27 behind only seniors from Notre Dame and Ohio State. He is seeded 10th overall going into the national meet.

In the women's 1,500m event, junior Lucy Van Dalen from Stony Brook followed up her America East Championship gold with a third-place finish in her heat with a time of 4:18.89, bettering her conference meet time by over eight seconds. She ranks 10th as well going into Eugene. Her sister, Holly, advanced with an eighth-place time of 16:25.55 in the 5,000m. The top ten times in the event were all recorded at the East Regional.

Boston University All-American Andrea Walkonen will finish her career with yet another appearance at nationals. She will be the 16th seed after placing fourth at the regional in the 10,000m. She finished the event with a time 34:49.83. Walkonen also qualified for last year's outdoor championship, but was unable to compete due to injury.

Rounding out the qualifiers is University of New Hampshire senior Ashlee Lathrop. Lathrop recorded a mark of 56.45m in the hammer throw, ranking 11th at the regional, propelling her to an automatic berth at the national meet. She won the America East gold in the same event last month with a throw of 54.67m.
