Albany's Graham, UMBC's Devaud Tabbed Academic All-Americans

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Two more standout America East student-athletes have been named ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, the organization announced on Tuesday (June 22). Albany's Valete Graham and UMBC's Dominic Devaud were both third-team choices on the Men's Track & Field squad.

Graham a senior from Bronx, N.Y., graduated with a 3.70 grade point average as a psychology major and was the 2010 America East Indoor Track & Field Scholar-Athlete. The long jump champion at the 2010 America East Indoor Track & Field Championship, Graham also won that event for the third straight time at the league's Outdoor Championship. He made the 2008 and 2009 USTFCCCA Division I Men's All-Academic Track and Field Team and was a five-time America East All-Academic choice.

Devaud, who graduated with a 3.62 cumulative GPA in mechanical engineering, won the heptathlon at the IC4A Championships in March after successfully defending his title in the heptathlon at the 2010 America East Indoor Track and Field Championships. He was honored with the Matt Skalsky Scholar-Athlete Award at UMBC’s varsity awards ceremony in May was named 2009 America East Indoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete.

Graham and Devaud are the sixth and seventh America East Academic All-Americans this season, the league's most since it had eight during the 2005-06 academic year.
