BALTIMORE -- Stony Brook University's Kevin Crowley has received the prestigious Lt. Raymond J. Enners Award, which is given to the Most Outstanding Division I Men's Lacrosse player in the country, as decided by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Assocation (USILA) and announced today (May 28). In addition, Crowley and five other America East standouts garnered All-America recognition yesterday (May 27).

Crowley, who joins Delaware's John Grant (1999) and Hofstra's Doug Callahan (2001) as recipients of the 41-year old award from America East, also earned first team All-America honors and was joined by teammates Jordan McBride, Tom Compitello and Steve Waldeck, who all helped the Seawolves reach the NCAA quarterfinals where they came within one goal of a Final Four appearance. University of Hartford's Tim Fallon and UMBC's Kyle Wimer rounded out the selections.

Crowley, a junior midfielder, earned America East Player of the Year honors and is a finalist for the Tewaaraton Award, which is given to the game's most outstanding player. Crowley ranks third in the nation averaging 4.43 points per game after tallying 77 points on 51 goals and 26 assists. He is the first America East player named to the first team since Albany's Frank Resetarits in 2007.

McBride, a junior attack, was named to the third-team after receiving honorable mention accolades each of his first two years. A three-time first-team All-America East choice, McBride ranks among national leaders with 48 goals and became Stony Brook's all-time leader in that category.

Compitello, a junior attack, was an honorable mention selection after receiving first-team all-league recognition. He tallied 70 points on 37 goals and 35 assists.

Waldeck, a senior long stick midfielder, ranks fifth nationally in ground balls per game (5.59) after picking up 113 on the season. The first-team All-America East honoree also scored 10 goals and had four assists.

Fallon, a junior faceoff specialist and midfielder who earned honorable mention honors, leads the nation in both ground balls (9.36 gpg) and face off percentage (.622). He was a first-team all-league selection as well as a Lax Power All-American.

Wimer, a senior midfielder, garnered honorable mention accolades for the second straight season. The first-team All-America East standout racked up 13 goals and 19 assists.
