Five Softball Standouts Tabbed NFCA All-Region Choices

STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Five softball standouts from three different America East schools have been named 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I All-Region selections, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced Thursday (May 20) morning.

A pair of Boston  University standouts, senior outfielder April Setterlund and senior pitcher Cassidi Hardy were named to the Northeast Region squad, while Binghamton University freshman Jessica Phillips and sophomore Deannie Plemon were selected to the Mid-Atlantic Region team, along with Stony Brook University's Alyssa Struzenberg.

Setterlund, the America East Player of the Year, was a first-team selection, as was Phillips, the league's Rookie of the Year. Hardy, the America East Pitcher of the Year, Plemon and Struzenberg were second-team choices.

The NFCA All-America team, for which all five players are eligible, will be announced Wednesday, June 2 at 4 p.m.
