CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Boston University's Tyler Morris (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) and University of Vermont's Evan Fjeld (Durham, N.C./Durham Academy), whose teams met in the America East Championship final, have been named to the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association Scholar-Athlete Team, the organization announced Wednesday.

Morris, a senior guard with a 3.30 grade-point average in business administration, was one of only 12 men's players in the nation honored. He contributed 10.7 points and ranked fourth among league leaders with 3.9 assists per game and third with 1.8 steals per contest. The 2006 Rookie of the Year, Morris earned America East all-academic honors this season.

Fjeld, a business major with a 3.23 GPA, earned third-team All-America East honors by averaging 10.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Fjeld, an All-Championship honoree, also led the league in field goal percentage (54.7 percent) and shot 65.2 percent in conference play.

Fjeld's Catamounts downed Morris' Terriers, 83-70, to give Vermont its fourth America East Championship since 2003.

Basketball players from all Division I-AAA ADA member institutions are eligible for these prestigious awards. Each of the nominees was required to have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) in undergraduate study and have been a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletics credentials. He/she must have reached junior athletics and academic standing at the nominated institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen and ineligible athletics transfers are not eligible) and have completed at least three academic semesters/five quarters at the nominated institution.  Nominated student-athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games listed on the nomination form.
