Upcoming Action
Saturday, February 27
Maine at Boston U., 2:30 p.m. (NESN, ESPN Full Court, ESPN360, AmericaEast.tv)
- Maine
had 16 assists on 24 baskets and committed just six turnovers in
Wednesday's 66-53 win over Albany, its fifth victory in six games.
- The
victory secures no worse than the No. 3 seed for the Black Bears, who
can still finish second, which would match their best seed ever, with a
win over Boston U. Saturday and a Vermont loss to Binghamton Sunday.
- Maine can also ensure its third 20-win season in program history with a win Saturday.
- The Black Bears have held opponents under 60 points 14 times this season.
- The
Terriers have locked up the No. 4 seed and will face No. 5 Binghamton
in the quarterfinals. Boston U. swept the Bearcats this season and has
won seven of the last nine in the series.
- John Holland scored a career-high 43 points in a 78-65 win at Delaware Feb. 20 to lift the Terriers to their third straight win and fifth in their last six games.
- Holland's 43 points on 14-of-20 shooting was the most by an America East player since Taylor Coppenrath had 43 in the 2004 league title game.
- Carlos Strong added 11 points and is averaging 17 over his last five games.
- Nine Boston U. senior will be honored before the game.
