Women's Basketball: Albany Rallies For First AE Win; Vermont and Binghamton Also Win

*at Albany 59, Stony Brook 52 (OT)  
 

  • The Seawolves led by five at the intermission, but the Great Danes rallied to force overtime, and then outscored the visitors 11-4 in the extra frame, to pull out their first conference win of 2010.
  • Albany rookie Ebone Henry scored a game and career-high 26 points on 8-for-14 shooting, including a perfect 3-for-3 from downtown.
  • Stony Brook junior Kirsten Jeter led the Seawolves with 19 points and 15 rebounds, along with two blocks and three steals.


*at Vermont 77, Boston U. 59 (WCAXtra) (WBCA Pink Zone)    

  • In front of a crowd of 1,864, the largest audience since senior day 2002, senior May Kotsopoulos scored a game-high 22 points. Fellow seniors Courtnay Pilypaitis and Alissa Sheftic each registered double-doubles.
  • The Catamounts had a strong effort at the charity stripe, going 25-of-30 from the line. Kotsopoulos set a new school record for single-game consecutive free throws with a 13-of-13 performance.
  • Four Terriers scored in double-digits, including sophomore Alex Young with a team-high 18. Classmate Caroline Stewart collected a team-best 10 boards.


*at Binghamton 70, UMBC 36 (TWCS)

  • Bearcat senior Erica Carter hit 4-of-6 three-point attempts to finish with a game-high 15 points. Junior Jackie Ward, sophomore Orla O'Reilly and senior Darryll Peterson finished with 14, 13 and 12 points, respectively.
  • Binghamton outrebounded UMBC, 47-32, while shooting 45.6% from the field. The Bearcats held the Retrievers to just 20.8% field-goal shooting.
  • UMBC sophomore Topé Obajolu was the lone Retriever in the double-figure scoring column, finishing with 11. Obajolu also recorded the Retrievers' lone block.
