Iona 71, Stony Brook 67- Box Score

  • Stony Brook closed out its five-game homestand with a heartbreaking 71-67 loss to Iona.
  • The Seawolves were led by an outstanding performance from senior forward Kirsten Jeter, who scored a team-high 16 points and grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds for the double-double.
  • Junior forward/center Destiny Jacobs put her versatile game on display, scoring 14 points and grabbing seven rebounds in 35 minutes of action.
  • The Seawolves begin a five-game road trip with a visit to George Mason on Thursday, Dec. 9.

Saturday, December 4

UMBC 63, Bucknell 57 - Box Score

  • UMBC (3-5) trailed Bucknell , 54-43, with 9:16 remaining in the second half, but came all the way back to beat the Bison, 63-57, at home.
  • Reigning America East Player of the Week Michelle Kurowski led the Retrievers to their second straight win as she poured in 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Kurowski scored nine points, grabbed five rebounds and stole the ball twice in the last nine minutes of the game.
  • Forward Erin Brown also had a strong game for the Retrievers, scoring 15 points and ripping down seven rebounds.

No. 20 St. John's 66, Boston U. 42 - Box Score

  • Boston U. (2-6) could not find its rhythm offensively, scoring a season-low 42 points in its home loss to ranked Big East foe St. John's.
  • Boston U. turned the ball over 21 times, leading to 23 points for the Red Storm. The Terriers forced only nine St. John's turnovers.
  • Junior guard Alex Young was the only Terrier to reach double figures, scoring 11 points.

Holy Cross 79, Maine 69 - Box Score

  • Maine (1-6) shot 50.9 percent from the field on the road at Holy Cross, but came up short against the Crusaders, 79-69.
  • Maine held a two-point lead, 57-55, with 11:42 remaining before Holy Cross outscored the Black Bears, 24-12, to end the game.
  • Sophomore guard Katelyn Vanderhoff led the way for Maine as she scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Two other Black Bears reached double figures as redshirt-freshman Amber Smith added 11 points and nine boards and senior guard Tanna Ross scored 10 points.

Marquette 68, Vermont 19- Box Score

  • Vermont dropped its seventh consecutive game to start the season, falling 68-19 to Marquette at Patrick Gymnasium.
  • The Catamounts struggled to find a rhythm on the offensive end of the floor, as they shot 8-49 from the floor.
  • Senior forward/center Tonya Young and junior guard Tory Dennerlein led Vermont in scoring with five points each.
  • The Catamounts return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 8, when they host Northeastern.

Lehigh 72, Binghamton 60- Box Score

  • Binghamton couldn't overcome an early 18-point deficit in its 72-60 loss at Lehigh.
  • The Bearcats received a tremendous performance from junior guard Orla O'Reilly in the loss. O'Reilly scored a career-high 23 points to pace the Bearcats.
  • Sophomore forward Kara Elofson provided the Bearcats with a strong interior presence, scoring 14 points and grabbing nine rebounds.
  • The Bearcats play their final home game of 2010 on Tuesday, Dec.7, when they host Siena.

Albany 63, Siena 59- Box Score

  • Albany continued its impressive start to the 2010-11 season with a 61-59 victory over Siena.
  • As she has done throughout the season, sophomore forward Julie Forster dominated in the paint. Forster recorded a double-double, scoring 14 points and pulling down 11 boards.
  • Junior guard Felicia Johnson gave the Great Danes a spark on the perimeter, netting 16 points and dishing out four assists in the win.
  • The Great Danes continue their six-game road trip with a visit to Syracuse on Monday, Dec. 6.
