At New Hampshire 88, Rhode Island 74 (3OT)- Box Score

  • New Hampshire used a dominant performance in the third overtime period to close out its non-conference schedule with an 88-74 (3OT) victory over Rhode Island.
  • Junior forward Denise Beliveau scored a team-high 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the win. Senior center Jill McDonald added 22 points and a team-high 12 boards.
  • The Wildcats clamped down on the defensive end in the final overtime period, limiting the Rams to only four points.
  • New Hampshire opens America East play with a visit to Albany on Tuesday, Jan. 4.

Friday, December 31
at Monmouth 60, Binghamton 51 (Hawk Holiday Classic) -- Boxscore

  • Binghamton (6-6) rallied to cut a nine-point deficit to four, 50-46, with one minute remaining, but was unable to complete the comeback.
  • Binghamton shot 23.8 percent from the field in the first half, but recovered to shoot 42.9 percent from the field after the break. The Bearcat defense held Monmouth to 32.1 percent shooting from the field.
  • Forward Viive Rebane paced the Bearcats with a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Guards Andrea Holmes and Jasbriell Swain each added 11 points.


at Providence 65, Boston U. 55 -- Boxscore

  • Boston U. (3-9) turned the ball over 17 times leading to 17 points for the Friars.
  • The Terriers were outrebounded, 53-43, including 25-13 on the offensive glass. Providence scored 22 second-chance points.
  • Guard Chantell Alford led the way for the Terriers, scoring 19 points on 8-of-23 shooting. Alex Young scored 16 points and Mo Moran added 11.


at St. Francis (N.Y.) 57, Stony Brook 54 -- Boxscore

  • St. Francis (N.Y.) guard Autumn Lau hit the winning three-pointer with 34 seconds remaining in the game to hand Stony Brook (3-9) its sixth consecutive loss.
  • The Seawolves held a nine-point advantage with 12 minutes remaining, but the Terriers went on a 12-1 run to take a two-point lead, 46-44, with under seven minutes to play.
  • Kirsten Jeter scored a season-high 21 points to lead the Seawolves. She also grabbed eight rebounds. Destiny Jacobs pitched in with nine points and nine rebounds.

 

Thursday, December 30
American 58, vs. Binghamton 32 (Hawk Holiday Classic) Boxscore

  • Binghamton saw its three-game winning streak come to an end with a 58-32 loss to American in the opening game of the Hawk Holiday Classic.
  • Junior forward Viive Rebane scored six points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Bearcats in the loss.
  • Senior guard Jackie Ward and junior guard Orla O'Reilly each added seven points each for Binghamton.


Kansas State 68, vs. Vermont 39 (Blue Sky Classic) Boxscore

  • Vermont was unable to overcome an early double-digit deficit, as it fell 68-39 to Kansas State in the final game of the Blue Sky Classic.
  • Sophomore center Lauren Buschmann scored a team-high 14 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds in the loss.
  • Junior guard/forward Ashley Hoyt came off the bench to score 11 points for the Catamounts.
