at UMass 71, Boston University 54 -- Box Score

  • UMass went on a 16-1 run in a span of 6:49 in the second half, extending its lead over Boston U. (5-9) from two points to 17.
  • The Terriers shot just 31.6 percent from the field, including 25.0 percent from the three-point line (5-for-20).
  • Boston U. went just 13-for-22 from the free throw line. UMass hit 20-of-25 of its attempts from the charity stripe.
  • Forward John Holland led the Terriers with 17 points on 6-of-20 shooting from the field. Darryl Partin and D.J. Irving each added 12 points.

at St. Mary's (CA) 87, Hartford 63 -- Box Score

  • Hartford (2-10) shot 42.1 percent from the field, but allowed St. Mary's (CA) to shoot 56 percent on field goal attempts, including 12-of-23 from behind the arc.
  • St. Mary's outrebounded the Hawks, 42-23.
  • Hartford attempted just 11 free throws, making five. St. Mary's went 19-for-31 from the charity stripe.
  • Forward Morgan Sabia led the Hawks with 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting, including 5-of-8 from three-point range. Guard Milton Burton added 14 points.

Thursday, December 30
Columbia 74, at Maine 71 --
Box Score

  • Despite a late second half rally, Maine saw its four-game winning streak come to an end, as it fell 74-71 to Columbia.
  • Senior forward Troy Barnies led the Black Bears on both ends of the court, scoring a game-high 25 points and pulling down a game-high 11 boards.
  • Junior guard Raheem Singleton added 11 points and four assists in the loss.
  • Maine kicks off America East play when it hosts Boston University on Sunday, Jan. 2.

at Morehead State 80, Binghamton 74- Box Score

  • Although it shot a season-best 53 percent from the field as a team, Binghamton fell 80-74 at Morehead State.
  • Senior forward Greer Wright scored a team-high 22 points, grabbed a team-high six rebounds and dished out a team-high five assists in the loss.
  • The Bearcats also received 15 points from senior forward Mahamoud Jabbi.
  • Binghamton closes out the non-conference portion of its schedule with a visit to La Salle on Sunday, Jan. 2.

at Wagner 80, Albany 65- Box Score

  • Albany struggled to slow down Wagner in the second half, as the Great Danes fell 80-65 on the road.
  • Sophomore guard Mike Black led the Great Danes on the offensive end, scoring a team-high 18 points.
  • Freshman forward Luke Devlin scored 16 points and grabbed 10 boards for the double-double.
  • The Great Danes start the America East portion of their schedule when they host New Hampshire on Sunday, Jan. 2.

at UMBC 68, Niagara 67- Box Score

  • Senior forward Justin Fry hit two free throws with only seconds remaining to propel UMBC to a 68-67 victory over Niagara.
  • Junior guard Chris De La Rosa led the Retrievers on the offensive end, scoring a team-high 21 points and dishing out a team-high four assists.
  • With the victory, the Retrievers put an end to a 13-game losing streak, which stretched back to last season.
  • The Retrievers begin America East play when they host Stony Brook on Sunday, Jan. 2.

at VCU 78, New Hampshire 65 (Holidays on the Hardwood Classic)- Box Score

  • In the championship game of the Holidays on the Hardwood Classic, New Hampshire fell 78-65 to VCU.
  • Sophomore guard Chandler Rhoads scored a team-high 15 points and grabbed five rebounds in the loss.
  • Junior forward Brian Benson scored seven points and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds to lead the Wildcats in the paint.
  • New Hampshire kicks off America East play when it travels to Albany on Sunday, Jan. 2.

Wednesday, December 29
New Hampshire 68, vs. Cornell 66 (Holidays on the Hardwood Classic) -- Box Score

  • New Hampshire put an end to its three-game losing streak with a thrilling 68-66 win over Cornell in the opening game of the Holidays on the Hardwood Classic.
  • Senior guard Tyrone Conley led the Wildcats on the offensive end, scoring a team-high 15 points in 40 minutes of action.
  • Sophomore guard Chandler Rhoads contributed on both ends of the court, scoring 10 points, grabbing a team-high eight rebounds and dishing out a team-high five assists in the win.
  • The Wildcats close out their participation in the Holidays on the Hardwood Classic when they face either VCU or Wofford on Thursday, Dec. 30.

at Stony Brook 63, Colgate 54 -- Box Score

  • Stony Brook closed out the non-conference portion of its schedule with a 63-54 victory over Colgate at Pritchard Gymnasium.
  • Junior guard Bryan Dougher scored a team-high 15 points to lead the Seawolves on the offensive end.
  • Freshman guard Dave Coley came off the bench to score seven points and grab a team-high seven boards in 18 minutes of action.
  • The Seawolves open up America East play with a visit to UMBC on Sunday, Jan. 2.

at Vermont 68, Mount Saint Mary's 61 (OT) -- Box Score

  • A dominant performance from senior forward Evan Fjeld, who scored a game-high 20 points, propelled Vermont to an exciting 68-61 (OT) victory over Mount Saint Mary's.
  • Junior forward Matt Glass scored 13 points and grabbed seven boards in the win.
  • Freshman forward Brian Voelkel scored four points, grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds and dished out a team-high four assists in 27 minutes.
  • Vermont begins America East play with a visit to Stony Brook on Tuesday, Jan. 4.

Quinnipiac 82, at Boston University 81 -- Box Score

  • Despite a game-high 31 points from senior forward John Holland, Boston University fell 82-81 to Quinnipiac.
  • Junior forward Jake O'Brien added 18 points and surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career.
  • Freshman point guard D.J. Irving scored 14 points and dished out a team-high seven assists in 33 minutes.
  • The Terriers close out the non-conference portion of their schedule with a trip to Massachusetts on Friday, Dec. 31.

Tuesday, December 28
at Xavier 88, Albany 64 -- Box Score

  • Albany (7-7) allowed Xavier to shoot at a .569 clip from the field for the game as the Musketeers pulled away in the second half.
  • Guard Tim Ambrose led the Great Danes with 24 points while shooting 8-of-15 from the field and 6-of-9 free throws. Logan Aronhalt dropped 17 points while Mike Black added 11 points.
  • Albany was outrebounded on the night, 38-23, while allowing Xavier to score 14 points off 12 offensive rebounds.


at Marshall 85, Binghamton 60 -- Box Score

  • Marshall jumped out to an early 11-2 lead over Binghamton (3-8) on its way to opening a 23-point gap, 45-22, at the break.
  • Binghamton allowed Marshall to shoot 49.2 percent from the field. for the game. Offensively, the Bearcats hit just 39.7 percent of their field-goal attempts.
  • Forward Mahamoud Jabbi paced the Bearcats, scoring 22 points, grabbing eight rebounds and blocking four shots. Guard Jimmy Gray added 13 points off the bench.


at California 74, Hartford 56 -- Box Score

  • Hartford (2-9) went just 2-for-6 from the free throw line while California connected on 21-of-26 of its attempts from the charity stripe.
  • Hartford forced 20 Cal turnovers and scored 15 points off turnovers. The Hawks turned the ball over 13 times.
  • Center Genesis Maciel and guard Joe Zeglinski each scored 11 points while guard Milton Burton added 10.
