Winthrop 54, Maine 51- Box Score

  • Despite an excellent defensive performance, Maine dropped its eighth consecutive game, falling 54-51 to Iona in the opening game of the Hatter Classic.
  • Freshman guard Ashleigh Roberts put together the best effort of her young career, netting a career-high 16 points in the loss.
  • The Black Bears received a versatile performance from sophomore guard Katelyn Vanderhoff, who scored 11 points, grabbed a team-high seven boards and dished out a team-high five assists in 40 minutes of action.
  • Maine closes out its participation in the Hatter Classic with a matchup against Stetson on Tuesday, Dec. 21.

Hofstra 90, Albany 60- Box Score

  • In its first game since completing a six-game road trip, Albany struggled in its 90-60 loss to Hofstra.
  • Sophomore forward Julie Forster delivered a dominant performance in the paint, scoring 10 points and pulling down a team-high 12 rebounds for the double-double.
  • Junior guard Felicia Johnson led the Great Danes on the offensive end of the court, scoring a team-high 16 points in the loss.
  • The Great Danes return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 22., when they pay a visit to Fairfield.

 

Sunday, December 19
at Central Conn. State 61, New Hampshire 48 - Boxscore

  • New Hampshire held a 36-32 advantage at the half.
  • UNH was outrebounded, 46-37, on the afternoon. Junior forward Denise Beliveau grabbed a team-high eight boards for the Wildcats.
  • Three Wildcats reached double figures in the scoring column, led by guard Kelsey Hogan with 11 points. Beliveau and sophomore guard Kari Reed each added 10 points.

at Long Island 59, Stony Brook 43 - Boxscore

  • The Seawolves shot at a .235 clip for the game, hitting 16-of-68 from the field including 2-of-18 from behind the arc.
  • Senior forward Kirsten Jeter led Stony Brook with nine points on 3-of-11 shooting. The Seawolves did not have a scorer reach double figures for the first time since March 14, 2008.

at Kent State 88, Vermont 36 - Boxscore

  • Sophomore forward Lauren Buschmann and freshman forward Mackenzie Kudron each scored eight points to lead the Catamounts.
  • The Catamounts turned the ball over 27 times leading to 41 points for Kent State. Vermont's defense forced only eight miscues.
  • UVM only had 12 field goals, but recorded an assist on 10 of them, led by freshman Jasmine Cooper's team-high three helpers.
