Sunday, December 19
Central Conn. State 61, New Hampshire 48 -- Box Score
- New Hampshire (1-7) held a 36-32 advantage at the half, but scored just 12 points after the break in a loss on the road at Central Conn. State, 61-48.
- New Hampshire was outrebounded, 46-37, on the afternoon. Junior forward Denise Beliveau grabbed a team-high eight boards for the Wildcats.
- Three Wildcats reached double figures in the scoring column, led by guard Kelsey Hogan with 11 points. Beliveau and sophomore guard Kari Reed each added 10 points.
Long Island 59, Stony Brook 43 -- Box Score
- Stony Brook (3-7) could not get its offense going on the road at Long Island as the Seawolves fell to the Black Birds, 59-43.
- The Seawolves shot at a .235 clip for the game, hitting 16-of-68 from the field including 2-of-18 from behind the arc.
- Senior forward Kirsten Jeter led Stony Brook with nine points on 3-of-11 shooting. The Seawolves did not have a scorer reach double figures for the first time since March 14, 2008.
Kent State 88, Vermont 36 -- Box Score
- Vermont (0-9) is still in search of its first win as it began a four-game road trip with an 88-36 loss at Kent State.
- The Catamounts turned the ball over 27 times leading to 41 points for Kent State. Vermont's defense forced only eight miscues.
- Sophomore forward Lauren Buschmann and freshman forward Mackenzie Kudron each scored eight points to lead the Catamounts.
Saturday, December 18
Binghamton 53, Mount Saint Mary's 39 -- Box Score
- The Bearcats
(6-4) put together a dominant performance on the defensive end of the court,
limiting Mount Saint Mary's to only .241 shooting from the field.
- Junior
forward Viive Rebane gave the Bearcats a strong presence in the paint,
scoring a team-high 18 points and grabbing a team-high nine rebounds.
- Senior
Jackie Ward led the team with four assists in 20 minutes of action from
off the bench. She also swiped away one of the team's 11 steals.
Albany 63, Niagara 47 -- Box Score
- Albany (7-3) put an end to this two-game losing streak with a dominant 63-47 road victory over Niagara.
- Junior guard
Cassandra Callaway led the Great Danes on the offensive end of the
court, scoring a team-high 13 points in 35 minutes of action.
- Sophomore
forward Julie Forster gave Albany a physical effort in the frontcourt,
scoring nine points and grabbing a team-high 14 rebounds. She also led
the team with five helpers.
Virginia 61, UMBC 46 -- Box Score
- Junior guard
Erin Brown showed her offensive versatility in the loss, scoring a
team-high 16 points and grabbing six rebounds in the loss.
- Sophomore
guard Kristin Coles gave the Retrievers a nice boost off the bench, as
she scored a career-high 11 points and grabbed a team-high seven
rebounds in 24 minutes of action.
- UMBC (4-7) shot .419 for the game, including .500 in the first half, while holding the Cavaliers to .368 shooting for the game.
