CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Boston University's Ben Berube is the 2010 America East Men's
Soccer Fans' Choice Player of the Year as voted on by over 1,500 fans
at AmericaEast.com. In a close race, Berube, a junior forward, received 21 percent of 1,616 votes, to earn the honor. UMBC's Levi Houapeu was second with 18 percent of the vote while Hartford's James Stamopolous earned 17 percent.
Berube, a junior forward, is tied for second among league leaders with 21 points and eight goals. He also has tallied a league-best 12 points (5 G, 2 A) in conference play, which helped Boston University capture its second America East regular-season title in three years. A native of Somerset, Mass., Berube also leads the league with five game-winning goals.
Voting
for the Fans' Choice Player of the Year ran from Oct. 26-Nov. 1 with one
player of each member institution named to the ballot. The America East
All-Conference teams will be announced via release at AmericaEast.com on Wednesday, Nov. 3.
