NEW ORLEANS -- Stony Brook Senior Lucy van Dalen and head coach Andy Ronan
have been honored by the United States Track & Field and Cross
Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) by being named Northeast Region
Women's Cross Country Athlete and Coach of the Year, respectively. Additionally, eight America East standouts were chosen to the All-Northeast region squad.
Van Dalen won each of the four races she's competed in, including
the Pre-Nationals, site of the national championships, and leads a
strong Seawolves squad into Monday's meet at Indiana State. Ronan was named Coach of the Year for the second time in four years.
On the men's side, Binghamton University's Erik Van Ingen and Boston University's Eric Ashe and Matthew Paulson earned all-region honors. Van dalen was joined by her sister, Holly, and teammates Annie Keown and Hayley Green, as well as Maine's Corey Connor as women's recipients from America East
Monday's NCAA Championship races will be show live on NCAA.com. The women's race is scheduled to begin at approximately 12:08 p.m. Along with the Stony Brook team, Conner will also be running. Van Ingen will compete in the men's race, which starts at approximately 12:48 p.m.
