The
2010-11 America East men's basketball season is finally here! Four more teams
begin their seasons today and all nine open this weekend.
America

Binghamton at Bucknell, 7 p.m. -- Live Stats | Live Video | Binghamton Radio
- The Bearcats take to the road for the second straight contest and will take on the Bison in Lewisburg, Pa.
- Moussa Camara, Kyrie Sutton and Greer Wright combined for 40 points and 17 rebounds in last season's 64-40 win over Bucknell.
- Wright scored 27 points to lead the Bearcats to a win in their opener at Colgate. It was Binghamton's first win in a road opener since 2002.
- As a result, Wright picked up his fourth career America East Player of the Year honor.

- UMBC plays at Loyola Wednesday in a game that will be televised on MASN. The Greyhounds pulled out a 69-66 win last year.
- Chris De La Rosa had six points and eight assists in last year's
meeting. The America East leader last year, he had nine in his season
debut Sunday.
- UMBC hung with the high-scoring Cadets Sunday, but VMI shot 63.3 percent from the field in the second half to pull away.
- Justin Fry recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Retrievers.

The Cats visit UConn, which is the second Big East opponent for UVM in its last three games. The Cats faced Syracuse in last year's NCAA tournament after winning their fourth America East title.
- Huskie coach Jim Calhoun got his start in America East, winning five conference titles at Northeastern.
- Vermont opened its season with a win at Siena, ending the Saints' 38-game home winning streak, which was the second-longest in the nation.
- Evan Fjeld and Joey Accaoui each scored 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the field.

The Great Danes face the Yellow Jackets in the Legends Classic. It will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
- Albany
will face Detroit, Niagara and Bowling Green in the Legends Classic
Detroit Subregional later this month. Albany hosted a subregional last
year.
- American shot 50 percent in the first half en route to the win over the Great Danes Monday.
- Tim Ambrose scored 13 points, and added seven rebounds and five assists off the bench. He is averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists after two games.

Boston U. jumped out to a 21-5 lead on George Washington and hung on to snap an 11-game losing skid in the series.
- John Holland led the way with 28 points on 9-of-13 shooting, while Jake O'Brien contributed a double-double of 20 points and 10 boards.
- Holland, the league's active leading scorer, moved into 26th place all-time with 1,611 career points.
- Tonight's meeting with Villanova will be a reunion for Terrier for head coach Pat Chambers, who spent five seasons on Jay Wright's staff.

Stony Brook 51, at Monmouth 49 -- Box Score
- Chris Martin sank a pair of free throws with 22 seconds remaining to lead the Seawolves to a comeback win over Monmouth.
- The game was televised nationally on ESPN as part of the College Basketball Season Tipoff.
- SBU outscored the Hawks 17-6 down the stretch to and erased an 11-point deficit to seal the win.
- Martin led the way with 13 points and added five rebounds.
- Al Rapier scored 10 points off the bench and Dallis Joyner pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.
Boston University 76,
George Washington 67-- Box Score

Boston University opened up its participation in the
Dick's Sporting Goods Preseason NIT with an impressive 76-67 victory over
George Washington in Philadelphia, Pa.

Senior guard John Holland delivered an
outstanding individual performance, scoring a team-high 28 points and grabbing
six boards.

Junior forward John O'Brien controlled the paint
on both ends of the court, scoring 20 points and pulling down a team-high 10 rebounds for the double-double.

With the victory, the Terriers are set to face
Villanova for a spot in the Dick's Sporting Goods Preseason NIT semifinals in
Madison Square Garden next weekend.
UNH 55, Dartmouth 53-- Box Score

New Hampshire defeated intrastate rival
Dartmouth for the third straight time, as the Wildcats put together a huge
second half rally to earn the 55-53 win.

After trailing by as many as 17 points early in
the second half, UNH ended the game on a 32-13 run to earn the thrilling
victory.

The game came down to the final play, as senior
center Dane DiLiegro put back a miss by sophomore forward Ferg Myrick with time
expiring to complete the comeback win. DiLiegro scored 13 points and grabbed a
team-high 10 boards for the double-double.

Senior guard Tyrone Conley led the Wildcats on
the offensive end, scoring a team-high 18 points on 8-19 shooting from the
field.

UNH returns to Lundholm Gymnasium to host Holy
Cross on Saturday, Nov. 20.
Quinnipiac 66,
Hartford 64-- Box Score

A late rally couldn't prevent Hartford from
suffering its second consecutive narrow loss, as the Hawks fell 66-64 to
Quinnipiac.

After
trailing by 10 points at the half, Hartford cut the deficit to one point with
just 20 seconds remaining. However, senior guard/forward Milton Burton missed a
three-point attempt at the buzzer that would have given the Hawks the win.

Senior forward Morgan Sabia dominated on both
ends of the floor, scoring a team-high 23 points on 8-14 shooting and grabbing
six rebounds.

Hartford opens up the home portion of its
schedule with a matchup against Dartmouth on Friday, Nov. 19.
