Upcoming Action

Thursday, October 7

New Hampshire at Albany, 3 p.m.

New Hampshire (5-5-3, 1-1-0 America East) continues its America East play as it travels to Albany (5-6-1, 0-1-1 America East) to take on the Great Danes.

New Hampshire enters the match after topping UMBC, 2-0, on Sunday. America East Player of the Week sophomore forward Chelsea Kuss assisted on what proved to be the game-winning goal in that match. Senior midfielder Carole LeBlanc scored the goal for the Wildcats. Junior midfielder Stephanie Gilkenson also tallied a goal.

Albany comes into the game still in search of its first conference victory. The Great Danes had an opportunity to grab a win on Sunday against Hartford, but were unable to score despite outshooting the Hawks, 18-7. The Great Danes still have not scored a goal in a conference match in 2010.

Albany won the last match between these two squads, 1-0, in New Hampshire last season.

Maine at UMBC, 4 p.m. -- Live Stats

Maine (5-4-0, 1-1-0 America East) heads down to Baltimore to take on a UMBC (2-9-1, 1-2-0 America East) team looking to get back on track in conference play.

Maine has not played a match since September 30 when the Black Bears topped Vermont, 2-1. America East Rookie of the Week Lisa Bijman scored the game-winning goal, completing Maine’s come-from-behind victory.

UMBC is coming off back-to-back shutout losses in conference play, most recently dropping a 2-0 decision to New Hampshire. Freshman keeper Lauren Kadet has made a combined 15 saves in the last two matches. With her strong play in net, UMBC will hope for a better result against Maine this year than it had last season. In the 2009 meeting, the Black Bears beat the Retrievers, 7-0.

Boston U. at Hartford, 7 p.m. -- Live Stats | Live Video

Boston University (8-5-0, 3-0-0 America East) travels to Hartford (4-6-3, 1-0-2 America East) for an evening match between the two without a conference loss.

The Terriers come into this match riding a five-game winning streak. Each of those wins has come via shutout. The five consecutive shutouts is a Boston U. record. Most recently, the Terriers took care of Stony Brook, 4-0, in Boston. In the five-game stretch, Boston U. has outscored its opponents, 13-0.

Hartford has not had the same kind of offensive success as Boston U., but the Hawks have shut out their last two opponents, and three of their last four. Junior keeper Lauren Brodeur is tops among America East net minders with five saves in 2010.

When these two teams met in 2009, Boston U. topped the Hawks, 1-0.

Vermont at Stony Brook, 7 p.m. -- Live Stats | Live Video

Vermont (2-10-0, 1-2-0 America East) looks to build momentum after its first conference win as they hit the road to take on Stony Brook (2-8-2, 1-1-1 America East).

The Catamounts ended a 10-game losing streak when they beat Binghamton, 1-0, on Sunday. Freshman forward Haley Marks scored the gamewinner for Vermont. Vermont will try to win back-to-back games for the first time since September of 2006.
Stony Brook comes into the match looking to bounce back from a 4-0 loss to Boston U. on Sunday. Prior to that match, the Seawolves had been on a three-game unbeaten streak. During that stretch, Stony Brook outscored its opponents, 7-2.

Stony Brook has won the last four meetings against the Catamounts, most recently a 2-0 victory in Vermont in 2009.
