UMBC at Stony Brook, 5 p.m.- Live Stats ; Live Video

UMBC (9-4-2, 3-1-2 America East) travels to Stony Brook (9-5-3, 3-1-2 America East) for a game that will determine the No. 2 seed in the America East conference tournament. These teams met in the 2009 America East Championship title game, with the Seawolves winning 2-0 to win their second conference title.

Should either team come away victorious from this game, the winning team would clinch the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye. However, both teams have already secured the right to host a first-round game, which would take place on November 6.

The Retrievers enter this game having won three straight. UMBC closed out the home portion of its schedule with a 3-1 win over Vermont. Senior forward Levi Houapeu put together an incredible performance, scoring all three goals in the win. Houapeu has now scored a league-high 12 goals this season.

Stony Brook enters this match up on a five-game unbeaten streak. Although they are known for their offense, the Seawolves have developed into an excellent defensive team. Stony Brook earned its fourth shutout in the past five games with their 1-0 win at Hartford. Sophomore goalkeeper Stefan Manz picked up his seventh shutout of the season in the win. The lone goal of the game came from senior defender Mladen Ramic.

Vermont 2, Hartford 0 - Box Score

Vermont (7-7-4, 2-4-1 America East) clinched the final spot in the America East conference tournament with its 2-0 victory over Hartford (5-10-0, 2-5-0 America East). This win, combined with the 4-0 loss by Albany, ensured the Catamounts the No. 6 seed.

In a battle between two teams hoping to qualify for the conference tournament, the host Catamounts came out on the attack and grabbed the lead halfway through the opening 45 minutes. Senior forward Patrick Alonis netted his second goal of the season to give Vermont the lead in the 27th minute. Hartford continued to look for the equalizing goal, as the Hawks knew that a tie would be good enough to earn a spot in the conference tournament. However, it was Vermont that found the late goal, with sophomore defender Sean Sweeney scoring the insurance goal in the 86th minute.  With the loss, the Hawks saw their road record drop to 0-8 this season.

The Catamounts return to the field on November 6 for the first round of the America East conference tournament.  With the loss, Hartford was eliminated from contention for a spot in the conference tournament.

Boston University 4, Albany 0 - Box Score

Boston University (11-4-1, 6-1-0 America East) closed out its regular season in impressive fashion with a convincing 4-0 win over Albany (5-10-1, 1-5-1 America East) at Nickerson Field. The Terriers head into the America East conference tournament as the No. 1 seed.

Despite Albany being the team playing to extend its season, it was the Terriers that came out more aggressive. The Terriers scored two goals in the opening 16 minutes to kick off a dominant performance. Senior forward Aaron O'Neal opened the scoring in the 10th minute with his eighth goal of the season. Junior midfielder Michael Bustamante extended the lead just six minutes later when he scored from the penalty spot. Boston University grabbed the 3-0 lead heading into the half courtesy of a goal from senior midfielder Ben Havey in the 36th minute. Junior midfielder Ben Berube closed out the scoring in the 73rd minute with his eighth goal of the season. Albany senior goalkeeper Adrian Foncette did his best to keep the Great Danes in the game, making seven saves.

As the No. 1 seed, the Terriers have clinched a bye into the semifinals of the conference tournament.  With the loss, Albany was eliminated from contention for a spot in the conference tournament.

Binghamton 1, New Hampshire 0 (2OT) - Box Score

Binghamton (5-6-4, 3-2-2 America East) clinched a home game in the America East conference tournament with its 1-0 (2OT) home victory over New Hampshire (7-4-5, 2-3-2 America East).

With the opportunity to host a game in the conference tournament on the line, both teams came out playing very defensive soccer. The Bearcats were the more aggressive team in the first half, as they outshot the Wildcats, 6-2. However, New Hampshire senior goalkeeper Colin O'Donnell did an excellent job keeping the Bearcats off the scoreboard. Binghamton kept up the pressure over the final 45 minutes, but was unable to breakdown the stingy UNH defense. After a scoreless first overtime period, the Bearcats finally broke through, as freshman midfielder Tommy Klim scored off a header to clinch the victory.

Both teams had already clinched spots in the America East conference tournament prior to this game. Binghamton closes out the non-conference portion of its schedule when it hosts Bucknell on November 2. New Hampshire travels to Dartmouth on the same day.
