America East is proud to release episode one of its latest new media initiative, "America East Online". America East Online is a 20-minute web-only show which features all nine of the conference's campuses and highlights athletics, academics and leadership.
The show, hosted by America East's Max Mandel, will be available on Wednesdays at least every other week throughout the academic year, including weekly during the basketball season. Fans can watch the web show at the America East Zone on AmericaEast.com, as well as on the league's social media web sites such as YouTube and Facebook.
The first episode begins with a look into the Newman's Own sponsorship as announced at the Basketball Tip-Off Event on Thursday, October 14, and includes an interview with Newman's Own CEO Bob Forrester.
Episode one continues with a recap of the men's and women's soccer seasons, including the big non-conference wins and record-setting streaks. Highlights and graphics tell the stories of the America East programs so far this fall.
America East Online looks back on the Basketball Tip-Off Event and at the basketball previews. Fans who haven't seen the 2010 preseason polls and all-conference teams yet can catch them during this segment. Interviews with the top three coaches on both the men's and women's side are featured here as well.
Finally, the Best of U. features in which America East highlights the accomplishments of its student-athletes off the playing fields return for another year as a regular segment in America East Online. The first in the 2010-11 Best of U. series is the Catamount Classic, a fall men's lacrosse tournament organized by the University of Vermont coaches to benefit testicular cancer research.
