Hartford 1, New Hampshire 0 -- Box Score
Hartford (4-7-0, 2-2-0 America East) scored a late first-half goal and
shut down New Hampshire’s (5-3-4, 0-2-2 America East) offense to win at home,
1-0.
Hartford sophomore midfielder James Stamopoulos scored in the 45th
minute to put the Hawks ahead, 1-0. The goal was assisted by senior midfielder
Sam Groves. The Hawks took that lead into halftime.
The lone goal proved to be enough for the Hawks as the Hartford defense
held the Wildcats to four total shots and one shot on goal. The Hawks took 12
shots, four of which were on target.
New Hampshire sophomore forward Jordan Thomas recorded the shot on goal
for the Wildcats. It was saved by Hartford junior keeper Luke Citriniti.
Binghamton 1, Albany 1 (2 OT) -- Box Score
Binghamton (4-4-4, 2-0-2 America East) overcame an early deficit to
draw on the road and stay unbeaten in conference play at intrastate rival
Albany (4-8-1, 0-3-1 America East).
Albany took a 1-0 lead in the early in the match when senior midfielder
Sander Anker took a cross from senior forward Bo Jelovac and put it in the back
of the net in the fifth minute. The goal was the first of the season for Anker.
Binghamton did not back down, though. The Bearcats answered in the 40th
minute when sophomore forward Adam Whitehead scored an unassisted goal to tie
the match, 1-1.
The Bearcats were on the attack the entire game, attempting 23 shots
with eleven shots on goal. Those totals greatly outweighed Albany’s nine shots
and three shots on goal.
Great Dane goalkeeper Adrian Foncette was up to the task against the
Binghamton offense. The junior made 10 saves in the match. Foncette leads
America East keepers in saves.
Binghamton is now unbeaten in its last eight matches.
Stony Brook 0, Vermont 0 (2 OT) -- Box Score
Stony Brook (7-5-3, 1-1-2 America East) travelled to Vermont (6-5-4,
1-2-1 America East) for what turned into a goalkeeping duel in a scoreless
draw.
Stony Brook sophomore Stefan Manz made nine saves as he earned his sixth
shutout of the season. Five of those saves came in the two overtime periods.
In the Vermont net, sophomore David Ramada stopped six shots, one in
the second overtime, to blank the Seawolves.
Both teams took their share of shot attempts. Vermont racked up 18 total
shots while Stony Brook had 11. Vermont sophomore forward D.J. Elder took seven
shots on the afternoon.
