Thursday, January 7
*Boston U. at Binghamton    7 p.m.

  • The Terriers won all three meetings with the Bearcats last year, including an America East semifinal on a neutral court.
  • Both teams are among the best three-point shooting teams in the conference. Binghamton leads America East with 35.8% shooting from long-range, while Boston U. is third with 31.7% accuracy.
  • Boston U. freshman Chantell Alford has a nine-game streak in double-figure scoring and has averaged 22 ppg in the last three games.


*Maine at Vermont    7 p.m.

  • These long-time rivals are meeting for the 71st time. The Catamounts took last season's series, 2-0, and have won nine straight against the Black Bears.
  • Seniors have a big presence on both teams. Vermont seniors May Kotsopoulos and Courtnay Pilypaitis lead the team in scoring with 17.9 and 14.9 ppg, while Maine seniors Kristin Baker and Amanda Tewksbury average 11.8 and 10.3 ppg as two of the top three scorers for the Black Bears.
  • Maine is second in the conference with 12.8 assists per game.

*Hartford 69, at UMBC 66

  • Hawk senior center Diana Delva continued her shooting excellence by going 5-for-7 from the field for a team-high 17 points to go along with seven rebounds, two assists, a block, a steal and 7-for-9 free-throw shooting.
  • Sophomore Ilicia Mathis was one of three other Hawks to reach double-figures, notching 12 points in just 17 minutes off the bench.
  • UMBC senior Carlee Cassidy helped fuel a Retriever comeback bid that fell just short with a game-high 21 points. Cassidy went 3-for-8 from long-range, while her trey that would have sent the game into overtime hit off the rim.


Albany 64, at Brown 55

  • The Great Danes finished their non-league slate above .500 with their best 13-game start in the program's Division I history. The victory over the Bears eclipsed last year's win total.
  • Four of Albany's starters hit the 10-point mark led by sophomore guard Felicia Johnson's 16 points.
  • Freshmen Julie Forster and Ebone Henry each swiped three steals as the Great Danes totaled 13 for the game to improve on their league-leading 11.38 spg.


*at Stony Brook 69, New Hampshire 57

  • The Seawolves shot 40% or better from the field in both halves to finish at 40.6% for the game. Stony Brook, which had only hit 12 treys all season, hit six against the Wildcats on 15 attempts.
  • Junior Kirsten Jeter netted a game-high 21 points for Stony Brook and completed the double-double with 10 boards. She also added four steals.
  • UNH senior Candace Williams scored a team-high 17 points, while junior Jill McDonald rejected five Stony Brook shots.
