- Albany was
one of just three teams to defeat Binghamton, the reigning league
champion, in conference play last season and has won five of the last
eight matchups. The Bearcats had previously won eight straight meetings
from 2002-05.
- The
Bearcats rallied from a 15 point deficit via an 18-0 run in the second
half to down Atlantic 10 foe La Salle Saturday, while Albany, playing
at home for the first time in 42 days, snapped a four-game losing
streak with a win over Yale Sunday.
- Binghamton's Pina
Gullaume, the reigning Rookie of the Week, had a career-best 19 points and nine rebounds Saturday.
- Albany's
Billy Allen set a new career high in consecutive games with 16 points
at #9 North Carolina Wednesday and 21 on 8-of-9 shooting against Yale
Sunday.

- UNH, which has won its last two league openers, is 5-0 at Lundholm Gym this season and have won eight straight there overall.
- The Terriers have won four straight meetings with New Hampshire by an average of 18.5 points.
- Jake
O'Brien scored a career-high 27 points on 9-of-14 shooting overall and
6-of-8 shooting from 3-point range but Boston U. dropped its league
opener for the fourth straight season Saturday.
- UNH rallied from 12 points down but Santa Clara sank four free throws in the final four seconds en route to the win Saturday.
- Tyrone Conley scored a career-high 28 points in that contest and is averaging 17.7 points over his last six outings.

- The
Seawolves host Hartford, which they beat twice last season Thursday, in
search of their first-ever 2-0 start in America East play.
- Despite losing both meetings last season, the Hawks have won seven of the last nine in the series.
- Bryan
Dougher, the league's Player of the Week, scored 21 of his career-best
30 points in the second half to lead the Seawolves to their second
straight win on the road in a conference opener.
- Joe
Zeglinski had a team-high 17 points, and moved into fifth on Hartford's
all-time scoring list with 1,307 career points in a loss at #3 Kentucky
on Dec. 29.
- The Hawks'
Andres Torres, who ranks third among conference leaders with 5.0
assists per game, will miss the next 4-6 weeks with a torn PCL.

- Maine and Vermont meet for the 117th time on Thursday with the Catamounts taking the last five tilts.
- The
Black Bears enter conference play with its best win percentage (.615)
since going 6-3 during the 2003-04 campaign. That year the Black Bears
went on to go 12-6 in America East play and reached the league
championship game.
- The
Catamounts, winners of three straight and eight of nine, won its
conference opener for the 10th time in the last 11 years Saturday.
- Marqus
Blakley earned his third Player of the Week honor this season by
averaging 22 points and 12 boards in three games last week. He
currently leads the league in scoring (18.6 ppg), steals (3.0 spg),
blocks (2.3 bpg), ranks second in rebounding (9.4 rpg) and is fourth in
assists (3.9 apg).

- Chris De La Rosa poured in a career-high 28 points, dished out five assists and committed zero turnovers but Penn shot 54 percent from 3-point range to earn the win.
- De La Rosa leads the league averaging 5.2 assists per game and is second with a 2.0 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Monday, January 4
at Maine 52, Princeton 50
- Gerald McLemore, America East's fourth leading scorer at 15.4 ppg, scored 14 points in Monday's win over Princeton.
- The
victory was Maine's third straight, which included an upset of Boston
College Saturday, and fifth in its last six games. The Black Bears have
held opponents to 53.8 ppg in those five wins.
