Upcoming Action
Saturday, January 16
*Hartford at Binghamton (NESN/Time Warner/AmericaEast.TV)    12 p.m.

  • The squads split the first eight games of the all-time series beginning in 2002. The Hawks have reeled off 10 straight wins over the Bearcats since.
  • Hartford senior center Diana Delva has been a star when it comes to shooting efficiency. Delva would tie the all-time conference single-season record with her conference-leading .649 mark if the season ended today.
  • Beginning her first six games of the season averaging 1.7 ppg, sophomore Orla O'Reilly has averaged 8.9 ppg in the last nine games.

*Albany at Boston U.    2 p.m.

  • The Terriers won all three meetings last season, but the Great Danes put quite a scare into top-seeded Boston U. during an America East quarterfinal dog fight. Eighth-seeded Albany took Boston U. into overtime before the Terriers eventually prevailed.
  • Boston U. sophomore Alex Young, who averaged 4.1 ppg last season, is second in America East with 15.3 ppg, while Albany's Julie Forster (7.1 rpg) and Keyana Williams (5.2 rpg) are the top two rebounding rookies in the AE.

*New Hampshire at UMBC    2 p.m.

  • UNH senior guard Amy Simpson is just 28 points shy of the 1,000-points milestone. If she reaches that career mark, she would be the second Wildcat to do so this season, following suit with classmate Candace Williams.
  • New Hampshire and UMBC split the season series in 2008-09 with each team winning on its home court. Last season, the RAC Arena crowd saw an offensive outburst as the Retrievers won, 95-85.

*Stony Brook at Maine    7 p.m.

  • Each team won its home contest in last season's series to keep the all-time series even at 9-9.
  • Maine sophomore Samantha Wheeler has more than doubled 08-09's output of 4.3 ppg and 3.2 rpg with averages of 10.9 ppg and 7.1 rpg in 09-10.
  • Seawolf junior Kirsten Jeter, a third-team all-conference pick, ranks eighth in scoring (13.4 ppg) and third in rebounding (7.2 rpg) among AE leaders.
