MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The Boston University women's soccer team (2-1-2) recorded its second tie in three days as it battled through 110 minutes of scoreless action with No. 7 West Virginia (2-1-2). The Terriers' defense shined in the draw as withstood 23 shots - 11 on goal - and senior Janie Reilly and sophomore Annie Tooley shared netminding duties in the shutout.

Reilly made four saves in the first 45 minutes, while Tooley finished out the game and stopped six attempts by the Mountaineers. The Terriers' defense also picked up a save, sweeping away a near game-winning goal by West Virginia. In addition to their eight shots in the first half, the Mountaineers drew five corner kicks.

In the second half, BU's defense remained strong, withstanding a West Virginia offense that fired off an additional six shots and four on frame. Tooley took over netminding duties in the second half, collecting all four saves. In the waning moments of regulation, West Virginia unleashed three shots within less than a minute of each other, before sophomore Jessica Luscinski recorded BU's first shot - a header that went just high of the net. That proved to be the last shot of regulation, as the contest was sent into overtime.

In the first extra session, a rejuvenated BU offense took over as freshman Megan McGoldrick recorded the first shot, but the attempt went wide. A few minutes later, Luscinski forced Kerri Butler to make her first save of the game and with eight seconds left in the first overtime, West Virginia's Caralee Keppler's shot went just high.

In the final 10 minutes of the contest, neither team was able to seize on their opportunities as both squads recorded two shots and Tooley made one save to preserve the shutout.

Boston U. will now prepare for the UConn Classic on Sept. 11 and Sept. 13, where it will take on host-school Connecticut on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. and Penn State on Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m.
