INDIANAPOLIS -- America East Women's Lacrosse Champion Boston University has been matched-up with seventh-seeded Syracuse for the first round of the NCAA Division I Championship as announced by the NCAA Sunday night during its selection show special. The Terriers will have to avenge just one of their three losses of the season in order to advance to the second round for the second straight year.

The Terriers visited the Carrier Dome earlier this season where they fell to the Orange, 17-8, in early March. Boston U. will visit Syracuse (13-4) once again on Sunday, May 10 for a 3:30 p.m. game in the single-elimination tournament.

Boston U. advanced to the tournament via the America East automatic bid after defeating University of New Hampshire, 16-6, in the championship title game on Saturday. All-American and two-time America East Player of the Year Sarah Dalton paced the Terriers, scoring six goals in the final and finishing with 11 goals for the tournament. Boston U. is currently on a 13 game win streak and has scored 12 or more goals in each of the last eight games.

Syracuse earned an at-large bid coming out of the Big East Conference. The Orange finished with a 6-1 conference mark to tie for the regular-season championship, and has won 13 games or more for the third straight season.

The winner will face the victor of the second-seeded Maryland and Colgate in the quarterfinal round on Saturday, May 16.

Tickets for the first-round game are $5 for adults and $3 for youth ages 12 and under. Parking will be free in the Dome West lots. For more information on tickets, contact the Carrier Dome Box Office at 1-888-DOMETIX.
