The last time UMBC and University at Albany met in men's lacrosse, the Retrievers pulled off an epic comeback to capture the conference title. This time no comeback was necessary as seventh-ranked UMBC jumped out to a 6-0 lead en route to a 15-7 win over the No. 18 Great Danes Saturday in the marquee matchup of the day.

Peet Poillon scored four times and added an assist, while Jeremy Blevins made 10 saves for the Retrievers, who improve to 9-2 overall a perfect 3-0 in America East play. The Retrievers can lock up the regular-season title and the top seed for the conference championship with a win at Hartford Sunday.

In other action Saturday, Stony Brook scored seven third quarter goals in a 15-11 win over Hartford. Kevin Crowley tallied five points (3 goals, 2 assists) to lead the Seawolves, who have won back to back league games and improved to 6-4 overall.

In the final game of the day, Binghamton snapped a five-game losing skid and picked up its first America East win with an 8-4 win over Vermont. Jake Boyce and Duncan Streeten each scored twice for the Bearcats.
