BOSTON-- The Boston University women's basketball team turned a three-point deficit at the half into a 19-point, 79-60 win over Central Connecticut State Thursday evening at Case Gym in the first round of the WNIT. The victory marked the program's first ever in postseason play and send the Terriers to the second round where they will face Boston College Monday at 7 p.m. in Chestnut Hill.

Boston U. senior Kristi Dini went 6-for-12 from beyond the arc to score a game-high 18 points. Junior Aly Hinton added 15 points, while senior Jesyka Burks-Wiley added 12 points. Senior Christine Kinneary dished out a game-high nine assists.

The game-changer was a 24-3 Boston U. run early in the second-half that erased a five-point deficit and turned it into a Terrier lead they would not relinquish. The Boston U. bench also made a difference, scoring 19 points to Central Connnecticut's zero points. Twelve of those points came in the second stanza.

When the Terriers travel down Comm. Ave to Conte Forum next week, they will see their first ACC opponent of the season in the Eagles. Boston College own a 20-11 overall record and received a first-round bye in the WNIT.

Postseason play continues on Sunday when the America East Tournament Champion University of Vermont takes on top-ranked Connecticut at Gampel Arena in Storrs, Conn. beginning at noon. The game will be shown on both ESPN2 and ESPNU, and will be streamed at ESPN360.com. Hartford will also take to the court on Sunday, hosting a second-round WNIT game against the winner of Friday night's Harvard-St. John's tilt. Tip-off is at 4 p.m. at Chase Arena.
