COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- University at Albany's Luke Schoen and Boston University's Andrea Walkonen each finished in the top eight in their respective events over the weekend at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships at Texas A&M University to earn All-America honors. Both Schoen and Walkonen achieved All-America recognition for the second time in eight months.

Walkonen, who already earned All-America status in cross country this past fall, placed eighth in the women's 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:03.04, breaking the school record that she set last month at the America East Championship.

Schoen finished sixth in the men’s pole vault by clearing 17-feet, 6.50-inches on his third attempt at that height. Schoen, the second Great Dane to earn indoor All-America recognition,  garners the honor for the second straight season he has competed. Schoen was tabbed an All-American after a fifth-place finish at the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Championship.

Stony Brook's Lucy Van Dalen and Binghamton's Cazal Arnett also competed in the preliminaries of the 1-mile run and the 400-meter dash, respectively.

At last year's Indoor Championship, Binghamton's Rory Quiller became America East's second national champion with an individual title in the pole vault competition.
