CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- Fan Centrals for the 2009 America East Men's Basketball Championship presented by SEFCU in Albany, N.Y. and 2009 America East Women's Basketball Championship in Hartford, Conn. are now live. In partnership with Pack Network, Albany County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Greater Hartford Convention and Visitors Bureau, the fan centrals will provide fans from all nine schools the ins and outs of attending the conference's premier events.

“America East is excited to unveil our Fan Central Websites. We have experienced thrilling basketball already this season and expect our championships to be more of the same," America East Commissioner Patrick Nero said. "Hopefully these sites will provide our fans with all the necessary information to join in celebrating the 2009 Basketball Championships with our teams.”

The 2009 America East Men's Basketball Championship presented by SEFCU is hosted by the University at Albany at SEFCU Arena March 6-8. While UMBC is the defending champion, all nine schools will be battling for the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Championship in what could be one of the most competitive tournaments in recent memory. Whether fans are looking for hotels next to campus or downtown Albany, needing to buy tickets, or in search of entertainment in between games, Fan Central will provide all that and more.

For the second straight year, the University of Hartford will host the 2009 America East Women's Basketball Championship at Chase Family Arena inside Reich Family Pavilion. The Hawks are the defending champion, but UMBC proved to the league two years ago that any team can win the tournament and play in the NCAA Championship. Fan Central is packed with greater Hartford hotels with America East special rates, other happenings around the city and information on the complimentary shuttle service.

Tickets are still available for both the men's and women's basketball championships. Visit the University at Albany web site for men's tickets, while fans can log on to the Hartford Hawks web site for tickets to the women's tournament.
