Championship Primer
• Boston U. and Binghamton are meeting for just the second time in America East Championship play. The Terriers downed the Bearcats 2-0 in the 2007 semifinal round. Three-time America East Defender of the Year Casey Brown scored in that game, while senior Mara Osher had an assist.
• The game will be played at Nickerson Field where the Terriers are 11-1-2 all time in America East tournament play and have won 19 straight overall.
• The Terriers are 12-4-2 all time in America East Championship play with six titles. The 12 wins, .722 win percentage and six crowns all rank second in league history to Hartford, which is 15-3-3 (.786) with 10 titles.
• The Bearcats are 5-2-4 in their brief America East Championship history for a .636 win percentage, which ranks third all time behind Hartford and Boston U. Three of those wins came in 2004 en route to the conference title.
• The No. 1 and 2 seeds have met to decide four of the last five champions and eight times overall. The higher seed is 7-1 in those games, the lone exception being Boston U.’s 2-1 win at New Hampshire in 2007.
• Boston University has never lost as the No. 1 seed in the America East Championship (9-0-1) with five titles. The Terriers have also never fallen as regular-season champion (11-0-1) with six championships.
• Terrier head coach Nancy Feldman is the all-time America East leader with 12 championship victories and six titles. Bearcat mentor Sarah McClellan is 1-1-1 and has made the semifinals in each of her two seasons in Vestal.
