TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - America East individual champions sophomore Corey Conner from Maine and junior Erik van Ingen from Binghamton represented the America East at the NCAA Division I cross country championship meet today in Terre Haute.

After placing ninth at the Northeast Regionals to earn an at large bid to the championship race, Conner placed 83rd. She completed the 6K course at Indiana State in a time of 21:11.2. Conner is the first Maine runner to qualify for the championship since 1994.

Van Ingen, who finished seventh at the NCAA Regionals, placed 234th and crossed the finish line of the 10K course in 33:05.6. Van Ingen was the first Bearcat runner to ever qualify for the championship meet.

On Saturday, America East squads competed in the IC4A and ECAC championships. Seawolf runner junior Lucy van Dalen (Wanganui, New Zealand/Wanganui Collegiate) claimed the ECAC individual title, completing the 5K course in 17:03.3. Van Dalen is the first Stony Brook runner to win the championship since 2002.

Claiming the top finishes by an America East men's and women's team at the race, both UAlbany squads captured second-place finishes led by freshmen Alex Leuchanka (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) on the men's side and Miranda McConnell (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) on the women's.

New Hampshire's men's squad placed third behind Albany while the Binghamton men's squad finished seventh. The Seawolves women placed third followed by the Bearcats in fourth and the Wildcat women in sixth.

With the cross country season now complete, indoor track and field is right around the corner. America East will release the track and field preseason coaches' poll on December 2.
