CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- Thirteen America East field hockey players were named to the Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-Northeast Team by the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association on Thursday. Six of those players were tabbed first-team members.
The six members of the first team were University at Albany's Suzy Clephane and Nicole Savage, Boston University's Nikki Lloyd, University of Maine's Lelia Sacre, and University of New Hampshire's Whitney Frates and Meg Shea. All six are members of the America East First Team, while Clephane was the conference's Defensive Player of the Year and Shea was named the Offensive Player of the Year.
The other seven student-athletes were voted to the second team and are Boston University's Allie Dolce, Jacinda McLeod and Haley Robinson, Maine's Maire Dineen, Jocelyn Mitchell and Kelly Newton, and New Hampshire's Kendall Deck. McLeod, Robinson and Newton were named to the all-conference first team, while Dolce, Dineen, Mitchell and Deck were all-conference second-team selections. Dolce and McLeod were also named America East Midfielder and Rookie of the Year, respectively. Robinson was the Most Outstanding Player of the America East Championship.
