On the heels of a successful non-conference season that saw two men's soccer teams ascend up the national rankings, America East Conference play kicks off with three games tomorrow.
UMBC (9-0-0), which entered the national rankings at #19 this week after after extending its national-best win streak to nine games, opens its league schedule at Vermont (0-5-3) at 1 p.m. The Catamounts, who are 13-4-7 over the last three seasons in conference play, are in search of their first win of the 2009 season.
The league's other ranked squad, Boston University (6-2-2) hosts Stony Brook (1-7-2) at 7 p.m. The Terriers, who are No. 16 in the nation, are coming off a 3-3 tie with No. 23 Brown Wednesday. The Seawolves are looking to snap a seven-match losing skid.
Also on Saturday, Albany (0-7-2) hosts Hartford (3-5-1) at 3 p.m. The Great Danes and Hawks each earned America East Championship berths in 2008.
In non-league action, Binghamton (5-4-0) will entertain Rhode Island at 7 p.m. in its homecoming game. The contest will be televised in the Southern Tier on Time Warner Sports.
